91 Odometer Goes Crazy!18 Oct 2004 03:58 GMT4
The odometer in my 91 SL-2 sticks and then goes into overtime, turning
over like a clock. The speedometer function does not appear to be
affected, however. Both the trip odo and regular odo exhibit the same
anomaly.

Awesomely Scary! FACES OF DEATH VCD for Halloween!16 Oct 2004 11:48 GMT1
For the uninitiated, the original Faces of Death is by far the most
controversial film to date. For this Halloween, watch the real thing. It is
extremely graphic in nature, and most definitely NOT for those with weak
stomachs. This film has more gore and carnage than Jason and ...
99 sw-2 Timing Chain14 Oct 2004 13:45 GMT6
Bought the car two years ago, at 69000 miles, now 86000 miles, bit
noisey when i bought it but became much noisier.  Removed valve cover,
cam sprockets badly worn, valve timing still ok. Replaced all sprockets,
chain, guides, adjuster, oil seal  (crank), and oil pump o-rings. Ready
About that knock sensor...13 Oct 2004 19:55 GMT7
Ok, I'm just getting curious here - the knock sensor in my '93 SC2
controls the ignition timming to prevent ping..  How on earth do I know
if the sensor's working?  I'm not getting any trouble codes, but that
really doesn't mean much.  And I'm getting lousy mileage that i still

Here is more background with the symptoms:
95 Saturn Wagon SW213 Oct 2004 04:43 GMT2
I have a bit of an intermittent problem with my wifes auto.  The car has
completely come to a stop after the engine has died.  This has happened 3
times over a 2 - 3 month period.  The engine light has come on.  After
waiting just a few minutes the car starts up and seems to run ...

86 SL2 spark plug well has oil in it!13 Oct 2004 02:12 GMT2
About 6 months ago I had a local mechanic replace the valve cover gasket on
my 96 SL2. Now I noticed the spark plug well has oil in it. It was about a
half inch deep. Is the gasket bad again or is there another problem?
Thanks,
Turning key kills power...until I step on brakes!13 Oct 2004 00:20 GMT1
I've been experiencing a very strange problem with my 1997 Saturn SL2 that
started a week ago. Sometimes when I try to start the car, I lose all
electrical power. There are no starting sounds whatsoever and even the LCD
clock on the radio which is normally always on goes out. What's ...
'04 VUE V6... worthy purchase?12 Oct 2004 20:59 GMT5
preface:  Sorry about this post as I know that these sorts can get annoying
and repetitive.  I looked for similar posts but could not find any.
I am considering an '04 VUE FWD V6 with head curtain airbags and the CD/MP3
player.  The $3000 rebate is very tempting which drops the ...

I have an intermitant problem with my '96 Saturn SL.
The engine runs fine for a few days, then the "Check Engine" light
comes on, and once in a while the coolant temp warning comes on, even
with the engine still hardly even warmed up.  The engine runs rough at
