I need some help with my RUSTY Saturn18 Mar 2005 00:59 GMT10
My '92 SL2 has really been a good car for the last 12 years. Minimal
repairs and it still looks nearly new with 101k on the odo.
Recently I noticed some rust appearing in the rear door sills. I know
this is normal for this model and year. But I would like to hear if
emergency key for ION1 -217 Mar 2005 06:01 GMT1
Thank you for your feedback,
so the emergency key for ION1 should be the same as regular key in that it
can open the door, it can start engine?
Then, why does the users manual says ION has PassLock system? it is also
emergency key from saturn17 Mar 2005 02:46 GMT10
I got my first saturn ION 1 a month ago, and the emergency key got mailed
last week.
the description says it can only open the door, but cannot start ignition; I
tried and it does not only open the door but also start ignition. is it
2000 LS won't start16 Mar 2005 20:20 GMT4
Hi. I haven't found the exact symptoms I'm experiencing on this site,
so I'm posting my own question.
My 2000 Saturn LS won't start. The battery appears to be fine. The
lights are bright, the stereo is loud. But when I turn the key I just
Cracked Head 1991 Saturn15 Mar 2005 22:31 GMT11
I picked up a beater car and I suspect it has a cracked head. The coolant
looks frothy and there is oil getting into the number 1 and 2 cylinders
(plugs oily). It is vey little oil, but builds up as it sits. The car
stutters at very low load as if compression was zig-zagging up and ...
Terrible Squeal15 Mar 2005 15:11 GMT10
I have a 95 SL2 and the belt has started squealing something fierce -
intermittently of course. The squeal is only in the morning when it's
cold (I'm in Houston, so cold is relative)! I have to turn the car off
to get rid of the squeal. Sometimes I can start the squeal by turning ...
Blonde has problem with red coupe15 Mar 2005 14:45 GMT4
My daughter is having some problems with her "5 year old" coupe.  I
can't help much because my Saturn is 12 yo, is a station wagon, is
white, and has a stick shift.  In her own words:

would like advice on 99 saturn sc114 Mar 2005 13:11 GMT2
We are looking at a 1999 Sc1, with about 62,000 miles, auto.has the 1.9
engine,  it is just a base unit no 3rd door or sun roof, no cruise.  What is
a fair price for this car?   Some dings and scraps, but looks good and clean
inside and believe to have been taken care off.  Any ...
car mystery14 Mar 2005 12:59 GMT1
Hi all, I don't know much about cars but I know when my car is messed
up. I think it's a fairly simple problem but no one has figured it out.
The problem started when I took my 2003 ION for its 10,000 mile check
up. They did only minor stuff, didn't change the oil, they did change
Stalling on 99 SC2 -57k miles; electric issues?14 Mar 2005 07:52 GMT5
I've had my 99 SC2 for about 2 years now, and up until now, it's been
problem free, a really great car.
However, I've been having this problem where on occasion, a few days a
week, it will randomly stall, or when parked won't start up again, and I
Secondary Air Injection Fault?14 Mar 2005 02:42 GMT2
The check engine light came on in my wife's 2001 SL2 Saturn (~61,000 mile).
I had an OBD2 scan done and it said it was the SECONDARY AIR INJECTION
SYSTEM. The guy at Advanced said to take it to a mechanic saying that they
had better tools to narrow down the exact cause.
Wipers13 Mar 2005 22:35 GMT8
I have a 2000 SL1 and when I shut off my wipers, instead of coming to
rest at the bottom of the windshield, they stop in the complete
upright position.  Other than that, they work fine.  Is there anyway
to easily correct this, short of going to the dealer?
a/c turns of SES??13 Mar 2005 20:47 GMT6
Q: I have been chasing a canister purge solinoid code (26) for a while.
I had a bad Solinoid and some bad hoses -- all were leaking pretty
badly. Canister is okay. I checked my wiring and PCM -- all good. But
after ~30 seconds of running, the code reappears and the SES comes on.
8th Annual Saturn Performance Club Summer Rally 7/27-3113 Mar 2005 00:43 GMT2
The Saturn Performance Club is proud to announce our 8th Annual Summer
Rally  July 27th through the 31st.
Unlike some of our past Rallies, we'll spend the entire event at one
hotel in Joliet, IL.
Rear stabilizer links -junk !12 Mar 2005 16:15 GMT15
They get dirty and seize up in 2 years. I greased mine and tied
plastic bags around them.
All Saturn muffler straps are made of cheap metal- they rust through
in a year or two. Makes me wonder what the gas tank strap is made of!
