I have a 98 Saturn SL2.  I am doing alot of interior work as of late an
I cant listen to radio because stupid chime constantly going off.  Iv
spend ~2 hours or so trying to find it to disconect it, I have no
removed radio panel yet but I really dont want to if I dont have to.

I have all of the new parts to put my ac back together...condenser,
evaporator, new cooling fan, however, I am not sure about taking the
rubber plugs out of the evap., and the condenser. Once air gets into them,
will they go bad, do I have to do it quickly, do I have a little bit of

after less than 3 years and at 74k miles my saturn SL2 blew a rod causing a
5 inch diameter hole in the engine. I was told that it was for a lack of
oil yet we brought that car to the dealership for all maint. The engine
light never came on and there was no oil stains on my parking ...

I was told by a muffler shop that my catalytic converter is broken
internally and that pieces of the catalyst are in the muffler. They
want to replace the muffler along with the converter. Is this likely?
Can I still keep using the original muffler with pieces of catalyst in

Can someone tell me a specific brand of coolant I can use on my
94 SL2 ?  I need non-phosphate ethylene glycol based coolant.
I went to the Prestone's website and found the following items.
I do not want to use the one-type-fits-all coolant.

The battery is new(replaced a few months ago
The alternator was replaced a few months ago as well
But since the new alternator was put in I am having the follwoing
problems

I know this has been asked before, but can someone tell me where the holes
are for drainage out of the sunroof channels? I'd like to know where the
holes are up at the sunroof where the water goes in, and also where the
hose ends, i.e. where the water gets dumped out.

I've been sort of considering trading in my Ion3 Quad Coupe (With body kit,
spoiler, muffler - all were on before I bought the car at Saturn).  It's an
'03 with 35,000 KM on it.

I've been looking for a reliable low cost 2nd car...  I had mainly been
looking at early-mid 90's Honda's & Toyota's since that put me in the range
of money I wanted to spend and they have a reputation for running to high
miles.

I have never had a problem removing a car battery till my bro-n-law asked
me for help.
Looks like some electrical thingy is in the way.  Looks like a push-tab

My boss gave me his '96 Saturn...he bought a 2004 Prius and doesn't want to
try selling the car...he had it sitting in a field for a year...towed it
home on sat....iginition comes on, fuel pump goes for a few secs then
stops...engine turns over but wont' start.

Saturn.com still has 05 info even though 06 models have been at the dealers
for months.
