| auto trans shifting late | 24 Jan 2006 22:55 GMT | 6 |
I have a 93 Saturn SL2 which shifts late 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th. The engine has to rev way up (3300-3800 rpm) before it shfits. Shifting 1-2 does not seem to be a problem. It used to shift at maybe 2500 rpm before. The transmission is not slipping just shifting later

It began this fall, started the car it ran rough and I notice the temp gauge jumping from cold to normal operating temp. Disconnected the battery and checked temp and other connections. That stopped the gauge from jumping around but now I have to spray starting fluid a few times ...

| Temp gauge reads cold | 21 Jan 2006 16:45 GMT | 17 |
On a ~100-mile drive, the temperature gauge on our 98 SL2 never went over about 1/8. The heater seemed to be blowing out plenty of warm air on us. Does this sound like a bad thermostat, CTS, or something else?
