Starter needing replacment?31 Jan 2006 07:51 GMT2
I have a 99 Saturn SL2.  When the car started today it started hard.
Started made noise like a grinding. Once the car started it sounded normal
thank  goodness.
Is it more likely my starter?  Or will any other parts need to be replaced.
turn light question31 Jan 2006 07:08 GMT3
Hey all,
I've got an '03 Ion and I've noted a bit of a problem.  The passenger
side running light/turn light seem to have an issue.  Every so often, it
starts mowing through bulbs and doesn't signal (rapid blink inside and
HELP !!31 Jan 2006 05:28 GMT8
Have a 1997 SL1, manual transmission.
Left it at airport parking outdoors for 10 days (this is Toronto,
Canada. Average daily temperature approximately 3 to 5 Centigrades
below zero; approximately 22 o 30 Farenheit). Came back this morning,
Looking at buying a 95 SL1 - what to look out for31 Jan 2006 03:48 GMT6
Hi, I'm looking at buying my daughter her first car, a 1995 SL1 with
156K. The car is for sale at a local dealer for $1500. It's a 5 speed,
with power sunroof, door locks and windows.
Reading some of the review comments on Edmunds would put anyone off
car died without warning29 Jan 2006 18:59 GMT2
I have a 95 Saturn SL1, and it died a week ago.  When I turn the ignition
key it doesn't start, but yet all the belts are turning in the engine...it
also makes a high pitched sound like a dentist drill.  The spark plugs
still spark and the fuel is going through cuz I can smell it ...
Throttle plate sticking -- fixed, but a question29 Jan 2006 02:50 GMT3
95 SW2, automatic, "alternative fuel" model (burns oil).
The throttle plate was sticking, and opened it up to find lots of black
grime, which I cleaned out. Now it is working nicely, but it begs the
question -- how did that stuff get there in the first place? Is it
how do you owners of  2006 saturn ion feel about them.26 Jan 2006 16:14 GMT6
I'm seriously thinking about getting a 2006 saturn, im 6' and it has
plenty of room so i dont feel cramped, And you get quite a bit for
what you pay for. What i'm interested in is what you owners of the
2006 saturn feel about it?
A question of durability25 Jan 2006 22:28 GMT10
I have a 1994 SL2 with 119,000 Miles.  My Penn State (PS) son is Main-Campus
bound Sep 2006 to finish the remaining two years. I live about 150 miles
away.  Except for normal maintenance, the car runs fine. I anticipate his
driving to and from PS eight (8) times. Is it prudent to ...
auto trans shifting late24 Jan 2006 22:55 GMT6
I have a 93 Saturn SL2 which shifts late 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th.
The engine has to rev way up (3300-3800 rpm) before it shfits.
Shifting 1-2 does not seem to be a problem.  It used to shift at maybe
2500 rpm before.  The transmission is not slipping just shifting later

removing the bolts that hold the pully ?

Radiator plastic reservoir 199523 Jan 2006 06:35 GMT3
I have an SL2 twin cam 95 with a manual transmission.  One of the plastic
reservoirs on the radiator is broken.  Is it possible to replace only this
reservoir and not the entire radiator?  Is there some supplier in Canada for
this plastic part?

'96 SL2 will not start cold21 Jan 2006 18:45 GMT2
It began this fall, started the car it ran rough and I notice the temp
gauge jumping from cold to normal operating temp. Disconnected the battery
and checked temp and other connections. That stopped the gauge from jumping
around but now I have to spray starting fluid a few times ...
Temp gauge reads cold21 Jan 2006 16:45 GMT17
On a ~100-mile drive, the temperature gauge on our 98 SL2 never went
over about 1/8.  The heater seemed to be blowing out plenty of warm air
on us.  Does this sound like a bad thermostat, CTS, or something else?
