Service Cleanliness29 Jun 2006 17:34 GMT15
Just a  poll: How many of you find it important to get your car back from
the mechanic in clean condition? If you got your car back and the seats or
mats were greasy or stained, would you care? Is it Important that the shop
covers your seats and floors so the mechanic doesn't get ...

A Sad Farewell to Saturn 28 Jun 2006 17:56 GMT2
It is with great remorse that I must say that after almost 3 years of
working for Saturn, I resigned yesterday. I am very heartbroken over the
decision but I felt that I had no choice.
I have been working for a major dealership in South FL until last month. I
Seeking comments on Saturn 'Extended Warranties'28 Jun 2006 01:55 GMT7
Well, we are really starting to get excited now.  I've done all
the research possible and we will be going to the dealer next
week to make the deal on a Saturn Vue. Not 100% sure if we will
go for the 4 or 6 Cyl.  The test drive will decide that .....   :)
Need information, 91 Saturn SC runs hot28 Jun 2006 01:22 GMT4
Have a 91 Saturn SC which is over heating on really hot days. I believe the
air dam is missing and I understand that it needs to be replaced to aid in
cooling. When I bought the car it was already missing so I'm not sure what
the air dam looks like. I went to the local junk yard ...
95 SC1 Hesitation under a load26 Jun 2006 00:41 GMT1
I have a 95 SC1 with manual transmition. My car runs fine on the highway
but under a load shifting between 2nd and 3rd or even 1st and 2nd it kind
of Chugs or bucks.  Have already replaced fuel filter, EGR valve, and new
plug wires.  Any Suggestions?
97 SCII water pump -- replacement thumbnail sketch ? 25 Jun 2006 19:37 GMT6
My daughters 97 SCII (DHOC) is leaking some antifreeze and I suspect it's
the water pump (original, 155K miles).  I've replaced a number of water
pumps in the last 50 years but this one looks it could be a pain because
of clearances.
Tranny blew at 84K miles on 2003 ION23 Jun 2006 13:24 GMT18
My wife's ION just blew its tranny at 84K miles.  The dealer said its a
belt in the transmission and will cost $4700 to replace.
We still owe about $7K on it and are looking into options.
Just don't know what the optins are for this kind of vehicle
'92 SL2 Smog Check - help / advice 22 Jun 2006 16:46 GMT4
I live in California and to register my car this year requires a smog check.
I'm not really looking for "Marvel's Magic Smog Check Fix" to dump in the
tank just before the check but I do want to give it the best chance of
passing.
2002 Saturn No Start22 Jun 2006 05:41 GMT8
I had an interesting experience today.  I parked my 2002 Saturn for the day.
Went to start it in the late afternoon and it wouldn't.  The engine turned
over normally and it would run for about 1 second and die.  Repeated several
times with same result.

Need help - New water pump "dragging" 18 Jun 2006 04:00 GMT2
I got the new water pump bolted up on my '96 SL.  After installing
the pulley, I gave it a spin.  Of course it is a little stiffer
turning than the old pump, but it seems to have a tight spot at the
same place on each rotation, for about 45 degrees..  Kind of makes a

Help! I'm trying to replace the head gasket on a 1996 Saturn (1.9 Litre) and
I can't seem to get the bolt off the main accessory pulley (bolted to the

Need advice on water pump replacement17 Jun 2006 03:32 GMT5
My '96 SL has an intermittant coolant leak which I traced to the
water pump area.  It only seems to leave a small puddle when it has
been sitting in my driveway for a couple of days - it doesn't seem to
leak while running or leave a spot during the day at work.
