what do you think?14 Jan 2007 01:50 GMT7
I have a '96 Saturn SL1 sedan.
For the winter here in New Hampshire,
I have studded snow tires on the front P195 70 R 14 on the front and
regular P175 65 R 14 on the back.
Loud Running---L-300??13 Jan 2007 21:22 GMT12
Why has my L-300 suddenly started running very loud? It seems to be
super loud on the freeway at speeds over 60. Could it be an exhaust
problem, or something? I do not think  it is my tires, because I hear
the same noise while the car is at idle, only not so loud. Any help on

Noise from the front10 Jan 2007 17:06 GMT7
98 SL1. 175,000km.
I have a noise coming from the front. It sounds almost like I'm driving
along beside a Honda with a fart can muffler. The noise gets louder and
changes tone as the car goes faster. It doesn't seem related to engine RPMs
Who Killed the Electric Car?10 Jan 2007 14:10 GMT20
I just rented this movie, for those who don't know all about Saturn's EV1
project ( I didn't know much until seeing this movie and googleing for more
info) it is a definite eye opener and very informative on where alternative
powered car technology started and where it is going and ...
96 SC2 oil pressure problem10 Jan 2007 03:05 GMT3
A friend has a 96 SC2 with 168,000 miles on it.  Up to this point, the
car has had very few problems.  She has owned it since new and kept up
with oil/filter changes.
However, 2 days ago, the oil light came on.  Nothing really seemed to
'96 SW2 sticky footfeed - but only when running?09 Jan 2007 22:44 GMT1
Hi all, I have a '96 SW2 wagon that has developed a funny sort of sticky
accelerator pedal - it has to be sort of 'pushed loose' each time (there's a
quiet 'thump') and this makes every takeoff a somewhat jackrabbit start.
It's as if the pedal is catching on a wire or something ...

Brake problem Saturm 2002 L200   Please Help07 Jan 2007 22:39 GMT3
After 35000 miles front brakes needed replacing. Installed new front
pads. Job went well with no problems installing the front pads. I did
not open the system to bled since I was only replacing the front pads.
Now I find the brake pedel has too much travel and has developed a
2000 SL1 Broken wires07 Jan 2007 04:50 GMT6
Well, I think I deserved this: previously I owned another GM rust
bucket (1982 Century), and aside from the usual issues it had, the most
annoying one was wires (that is, electrical wires) that tended to break
wherever they flexed the most (doors, trunk, and to a much lesser
2007 Saturn Aura02 Jan 2007 23:18 GMT10
Anyone have any clue what type of headlight bulbs they use  and how to
change one.  The thing is so tight in there it looks damn near impossible.

sticky left/right shifting - 1999 SL101 Jan 2007 20:23 GMT1
Trying to help my buddy; his '99 SL1 has recently started getting
difficult to shift left-to-right - like, between 1/2, 3/4, and 5/R
positions on the shift pattern.  I popped off the clip at the transaxle
for the left-right cable, and it was still sticky, indicating it's not
1995 Saturn - noisy valves ????01 Jan 2007 20:06 GMT3
I just bought a 95 Saturn SL1 - 1.9 SOHC.  The valves sound noisy to me, almost like mechanical
lifters out of adjustment.  Is this noisy valve train common to these 4 bangers ???? It's got plenty
of frest oil and a filter.  The car has 145,000 miles....
Thanks
