I have a Saturn 1996 SL2  5 speed with 120k miles. The care has always been
serviced and is in prime condition inside and out.

Sometime it is some what rapid, other times the will stay off for
several minutes and then start slowly blinking.  Coolant lever is
correct and the gauge never reads much higher that the first white

cam shaft has evidence of damage and the pistons as well. He can replace the
engine for $1500, which seems insane for an 11 year old car.
