2004 GTO on Barrett-Jackson28 Jan 2004 03:11 GMT47
Just sold for $35,000... $3200 over dealer-markup sticker and you have to
pay another 8% ($2800) commission.  Or you could go down to the dealer and
buy it for $31,000.  They stated that this was not a charity or celebrity
car nor was did it have anything special on it... not ...

MAKE IT STOP!28 Jan 2004 00:24 GMT11
No, it's not another post about faulty brakes. I want folks to stop
calling me to come and save another Studebaker! I just got another call out
of the blue. A female voice asks: "Is this Bob?"
  "Yes, I"m Bob" I answer
Overdrive simple question28 Jan 2004 00:06 GMT9
Do the brakes in a car with overdrive engaged, have to work harder, when
trying to stop at high speed? Is the stopping distance actually longer for a
given speed in overdrive?
Car is complete minus engine, transmission, and hood.27 Jan 2004 22:20 GMT7
This car is NOT, it bears repeating, NOT a Chevrolet!!  I know that because
it says so in the title of the auction.  It's very solid except for the rust
holes and totally complete except for a few minor things like the engine,
the transmission and the hood.  It must drive real nice ...
got my hubcap vinyl today27 Jan 2004 16:45 GMT1
looks pretty promising... will let you guys know how it works out when I
get one done.  This was the set that I got off ebay from "studestu."
Sure cheaper than new hubcaps and quicker than repainting, and looks
like it will turn out better as well.
Tarheel Wheel27 Jan 2004 16:32 GMT2
I need a current address for the editor of the Tarheel Wheel.
My attempt to send an exchange newsletter came back as an invalid address.

Door adjustments on 4 door Studes, and update on some projects.27 Jan 2004 15:15 GMT5
I have two Studes. A 63 Cruiser, and a 64 Commander. Both 4 door cars.
Both are low mileage cars. (In the 30 k mile range.)
Both cars suffer from the same malady. The doors rattle, and the glass with
in the doors rattle. I doubt that much can be done with the glass, without
Old TW story27 Jan 2004 14:55 GMT2
I've been slowly reading my stash of old TW, as I have a lot of catching up to
do, being a fairly recent SDC joiner.  Came across a well-written and funny
story in the September, 1982 issue.  Michigan's Don Everett told the tale of he
and a friend both towing a Stude...four cars ...
Mark Hoffman is ill27 Jan 2004 05:16 GMT8
I just got a call that fellow NG'er Mark Hoffman went into the
hospital this morning. I have a phone number if anyone wants to call and
chat with him, email for the number.
Free-wheeling question27 Jan 2004 03:28 GMT12
Just so I don't chew the teeth off my gears, do I have this right..?  With OD
engaged, and rolling, I can shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd without using the
clutch, as long as I let 'er coast between shifts?
Cold morning(OT)27 Jan 2004 02:21 GMT19
On Dianes thermometer in Subenacidie Nova Scotia this morning when we got up

436K,haden't been started since last Thursday. She went out and hit the

Resistance is futile26 Jan 2004 23:16 GMT1
Well, it's a pain, anyway. Been fooling with the Avanti for months, off
and on, trying different plugs, timing settings to no avail. With fresh
plugs it ran great, but soon started to bog down at higher RPM and boost
eventually fouling plugs. Yesterday I was out playing with it ...
Message posting time26 Jan 2004 22:57 GMT8
After reading Nimesh's post, I have the same problem. I usally don't
see a new posting for 12 hours or longer. Wonder why it takes me so
long and others see them so much quicker?
