History- John Mohler Studebaker31 Jan 2005 22:07 GMT1
Last night I finished reading a book written by my cousin's husband (The
Oregon Trail, An American Saga by David Dary of Norman, OK).  He had an
extensive discussion of  the California branches of the Oregon Trail.
However, he didn't mention of John Mohler Studebaker as having ...
The 55 coupe is here31 Jan 2005 21:44 GMT2
Lot's of good news on the 55 coupe. It's a 289 with power steering,
Flight-o-Matic and converted to 12 volts. The new paint needs a final
buff, the center and side grills are very nice and it runs and drives.
(sorta)  It was last driven in 1980 and who knows how old the gas is.
Car Show Tarpon Springs, Florida31 Jan 2005 21:03 GMT1
Went to a cars show yesterday and sat there all day roasting in the sun.
Got a nice burn, and got to see allot of nice cars.  Total of 3 Studebaker
showed up and Tom Hack (spelling?) got the Best Orphan with his 53
Commander.  They announce that it was the car of the year in 1953 ...
New Computer setup questions (OT)31 Jan 2005 20:31 GMT6
Been a while since I was on here. Health issues and a lack of
enthhusiasm for even driving my Avanti...but I know the variety of
knowledge and experience on a myriad of subjects here just can't be
beat, so here I am, asking for information.

Wheels & tires31 Jan 2005 04:06 GMT9
I know this has been covered in TW, I just don;t remember the month or
year. <G>  I'd like to use a newer wheel that's not so stock looking, but
the 7" width of what I was looking at today wouldn't work with 205 75R-15,
as the wheel would be rubbing the tie rod end.  I guess I could ...
OT, Netscape Question31 Jan 2005 03:26 GMT4
Any Netscape gurus in the group?
I had a crash of netscape, and had to reload it. Works OK, but now
when I launch the e-mail client, it wants to go to the website:
messenger.netscape.com to show a news and advertising page, which is a
Lacquer or enamel?31 Jan 2005 01:05 GMT1
Did Studebaker always use lacquer paints or did they also do some
enamel, like on wheels and such?
Thanks

NGers are great people!30 Jan 2005 23:50 GMT11
Well, I had what would otherwise have been a rather gloomy day
brightened a whole, thanks to the thoughtfulness of several NGers.
StudeBob and Dick Steinkamp are at a swap meet in in central
California, and come across a vendor with a bunch of '39-'40 Champion
Swap spaces in Spokane30 Jan 2005 20:27 GMT1
I see that Ed Reynolds and his group have been able to set some VERY
REASONABLE rates for swap spaces at the Int'l Meet in Spokane this summer.
For example it is only $20 for an 8x18 outside space for the week.  Should
be a GREAT meet.
Good Deal on 1957 Golden Hawk30 Jan 2005 20:26 GMT5
