Lurker looking for a Studebaker14 Feb 2005 18:34 GMT54
I'm in a bit of a car crisis right now.  My son's car has pretty much
bit the dust and I need to get a replacement.  I've managed to convince
the wife that this is the time for me to buy a Studebaker, then I'll
give my car to my son.
Got my '51 home (30 yrs later).14 Feb 2005 18:00 GMT1
30 years ago I bought a '51 Champion Starlight. Then life got in the way;
divorce, moved, moved again; and I put the car in storage. I've now
completed some other projects, and am ready for the '51. It's home! Some
surface rust on the original paint, but amazingly solid (for a  ...

50 Commander update14 Feb 2005 13:38 GMT3
Just for grins, I started buffing the old paint on the Commander.
Noting much I can do with the tree sap damage on the hood and a few thin
spots, but it looks a lot better.  I bought four near new wide whites on
ebay and will order a dual auction fuel pump kit and some new ...

was into Studes. He gave the part number

eBay Champ P/U13 Feb 2005 23:10 GMT5
OK, newgroupers - let's contact the dealer selling the Champ truck
(#4527058853) and tell him that yellow valve covers are Studebaker in
origin, NOT International. By the way, this truck was once owned by a
Midway Chapter member for many years. After he auctioned it off for
Military bonus O.T.13 Feb 2005 22:33 GMT30
I just saw that they want to give up to 150K reenlistment bonuses to
certain special forces to compete with the civilian contractors offering
big money. I have mixed feeling about it, since it does not do anything
for the less skilled grunts that serve, but don't have the ...
Time capsule13 Feb 2005 18:23 GMT17
The 50 Commander Starlight arrived today from Brooklyn and I could not
be happier. I've never owned a car this old, as original as this one is.
With the exception of the lower radiator hose, the seat covers, tires
and a some paint touch up, the car is as it left the factory. The

Web Ring13 Feb 2005 08:46 GMT1
Been "trying" to surf the ring tonight... hadn't done it in a while.
Sure are some neat sites out there.  But, it gets kinda frustrating, because
some sites don't link at all, some link improperly, and some just downright
"hi jack" you.

Thanks Nimesh.....(and Lionel also)13 Feb 2005 02:01 GMT13
While most of us are grateful, ALL of us need to recognize the efforts
of the handful of guys who are producing (not just enjoying...like
myself) the hard core performance parts that are no longer available. I
have heard many negative comments about parts not fitting or work being
