| WTB Avanti stuff? | 10 Feb 2005 14:05 GMT | 4 |
My sister's been invited to a surprise b'day party for an old friend who, 30 or so years ago, she tells me, used to own a few Avanti's and rebuilt them. She'd like to know the best place/way to get something nostalgic for him that's Avanti related. BTW, she's in Miami, FL. Not ...

| Cylinder Head Feedback | 10 Feb 2005 12:22 GMT | 7 |
I have seen some feedback on the newsgroups on heads. I do things for a reason. I use a flowbench and I know what helps and what does not. Looks are definitely deceiving as far as our perception goes. I started using junk heads years ago as a starting point. I did

| petronix ignition redux | 10 Feb 2005 05:12 GMT | 13 |
A short while ago there was a thread that dealt with problems with the petronix ignition system. Dave Carter said "My problem was it would run fine if you kept the rpms below 3000. When it got above that point, it would backfire and sometimes shut down completely (no spark)."

| GT is sold | 10 Feb 2005 04:32 GMT | 13 |
I guess I should have set the BIN higher. It's going to a general investment collector with 40 other cars. I'm happy and sad at the same time. I sorta wish it would have gone to a Studebaker person, so it would be driven and shown.

| Health care O.T. | 10 Feb 2005 01:19 GMT | 29 |
I decided it would be a good idea to get a physical this week and it's nothing like the top to bottom check I'd get in the Navy. I asked the doctor why he didn't check my heart for example. He said the insurance companies won't pay for 'routine' tests for low risk cases.

| eBay Rockne | 09 Feb 2005 20:05 GMT | 5 |
Somebody please save this Rockne sedan from the knucklehead who listed it. I'm not sure the hood sides are correct (louvers should be slanted, right?), and the interior has been gutted. Even if it's only good to make a streetrod - at least an SDC member should build it & drive it in

| Collectible Automobile Magazine, April '05 issue | 09 Feb 2005 05:44 GMT | 7 |
Richard Quinn has written a wonderful article on the Studebaker early postwar years. It is the best thing I have seen outside of TW but I haven't seen the Muscle Car issue on the Plain Brown Wrapper and Ted Harbit. I don't know if this magazine in on the retail racks or only
