   A new ECTA season will begin in April.  As a course worker I would
really like to see some Studes down at Maxton, NC to run the standing
mile speed trials. There have been a couple of articles about land
speed racing at Maxton in Hot Rod recently.  As a matter of fact Hot

Last Friday the Salt2Salt Team hosted a Garage Party at Ed Bauer's shop
in St. Cloud/Waite Park, MN
Bob Reining (Bob40) and I had a chance to visit with the "old salts"
and hear and see what's new.  The Team is planning another record

This time they took a solid, driving Model A and trashed it.
I'm not a Model A fan but this is disgusting.
I think I'm going to be glad when this show is cancled.

Heard On NPR this morning tha Gorden Studebaker is in Iraq working for
a a non goverment Org. and is involved in getting grants for rebuilding
Iraq. Has been there, I belive, for about 11 mos. They also mentioned
that he was a desendent of the Studebaker family that started the

For any of you pre war guys out there, my '27 Standard Six Touring has the
242 six rated 50 HP.  In '28 & 29, the same engine was rated 60 HP & 65 HP.
What was changed?  Cam?  I'd love to get just a little more out of this
engine so I don't hold up the fully loaded 10 wheelers on ...
