Orphan car show20 Feb 2005 18:55 GMT6
Today was the 6th annual Sweethearts and Orphans Car show in
Waxahatchie, Texas.  Despite the threat of rain and temperatures in
40's there was a good showing of cars - especially Studebakers.  Take a
look if you like:
Piston Swap20 Feb 2005 18:41 GMT8
What pistons has any one used to swap in to the 259?
I have used a Holden 6cyl Australian piston years ago, which could be the
same as some of the GM 6's here, but want something made in the USA. All
that was needed for the swap was to ream out the wrist pin to accommodate

More seat searching20 Feb 2005 17:04 GMT4
A while ago someone emailed me and said they had a seat plate for a 61
Hawk; unfortunately I have lost or inadvertantly tossed the email.  The
front seat in my 59 is getting worse and when I removed it to look and see
if there was any hope fixing the springs I found pieces of carpet ...

Was watching some wine & cheese auto show on Speed Channel while looking at
my e-mail this morning..
Had a section about trying to break the existing 0-60 mph 'production' car
record (held by a Ford something)..

50 Commander History20 Feb 2005 09:27 GMT4
Funny story, I found the name of the owner of the 50 Commander
previous to Ray on a Greek church parking pass in the glove box. I did a
Internet people search on the name in new Jersey and the first number
was a relative of the owner who died in 1972. She gave me the number of ...

'53-55 c-k radiator?20 Feb 2005 04:37 GMT21
just thought I'd throw this out to the NG before I spent big bucks.  If
anyone has a 53-55 C-K V-8 radiator with a 3 or 4 row core that they're
not using and are going to be at York let me know what you'd like for
such an animal.  Otherwise I guess I will eventually have my existing
More transmission reassembly problems <HELP>20 Feb 2005 03:44 GMT2
As some of you know I am attempting to reassemble my T-86, and somehow
managed to loose one of the small rollers from the input shaft.  I got
some new ones from SASCO and have been attempting to put the thing together.
The shop manual says a T-86 has 14 rollers, with 14 in the ...
voltage regulator20 Feb 2005 03:11 GMT4
Here's a dilemna!
Voltage regulator was showing signs of giving up.  Found an NOS Eichlin
VR-27 still in the box.  Went to an old auto electric shop, the owner of
which I have known for 30 years.  He checked the system, said the generator
Stude Expresso Wagon!19 Feb 2005 18:49 GMT2
If anybody can figure out a link, there was an interesting article
published in The Arizona Daily Star 2/17/05, written by a Dan Sorenson,
about a guy who converted a 1952 Stude pickup into an expresso wagon
for his business. Cool coverage; nice photo of the truck and lots of
