54 Champion Coupe01 Apr 2005 00:33 GMT8
I'm looking for everyone's advise on this one?  A few years ago, I did some
mechanical work for a fella on his Champion Coupe.  At that time, it was a
decent 20 footer, and ran really cherry.  He passed away about 3 years ago
and I've not seen the car since, until this afternoon.  ...

SPRING IS OFFICIALLY HERE01 Apr 2005 00:05 GMT4
I went out to the garage, threw crap that was on the seat
onto the floor, reached down found  a pack of matches
lit up a butt, turned the key, engine staarted, let it warm
for a few seconds, and we were off.
tires for '55 coupe31 Mar 2005 22:00 GMT10
I've been offered a free set of almost new 205/70 radials, are those
too short to work properly?  I think they'll be OK width wise as they
are not a performance tire and I have the 5" wide wheels.
I'm guessing that these probably wouldn't work at all on the 4.5"

Speedster radio31 Mar 2005 20:32 GMT1
N8, was right, you do need to separate the tuner from the rest of the
radio, install it, and bolt it back together.   I have tunes now. BTW
N8, I have that little map light with switch under the dash for you to
look at, might be standard on a Speedster.
'58 Hawk gas cap and fuel pump questions31 Mar 2005 20:06 GMT2
1 - Will I have any success finding a gas cap for a '58 Hawk at a local
NAPA store?  Was is the same as any other newer car?
The Hawk is actually a Packard, but the engine is a newer one, probably
not originally supercharged and the fuel pump either needs to be
My finally productive Studebaker day31 Mar 2005 19:48 GMT7
We have finally had two straight decent days (after a month of unusually
cold and/or rainy weather).  So, I decided to tackle a couple more things I
wanted to fix on the '64 Avanti I sold last month (buyer won't pick it up
until 4/22).  One thing that I didn't notice when I ...
tune up for '63-64 WW?31 Mar 2005 16:54 GMT6
Is there an official factory method for adjusting the dashpot and the
fast idle screw on a Stromberg WW 2bbl?  I couldn't find a procedure in
the shop manual.  Would like to eliminate all carb problems before I
start troubleshooting the rest of the fuel system.  I looked in the ...
Fly in the ointment31 Mar 2005 16:43 GMT9
I got bored about 10 PM and decided to pop the working radio into the
Speedsters dash.  Did you know you need to pull the dash to install the
radio in a Speedster ? So much for that project tonight.<g>

I have a 6 cyl motor, 3 spd trans, rear, front suspension, shocks,

Please let me know if you have any interest.  I don't want this stuff to
go to the bone yard.
More work on the '55 Champion31 Mar 2005 05:50 GMT3
What a messy garage!
http://www.tomnoller.com/Champion.html
Could use a set of hub caps that are around 10.25".  My wheels have the
three clips you push in thru the rectangular holes.  10" ones won't go on.
Busy day at the ranch, slightly OT.31 Mar 2005 04:51 GMT6
No Studebakers were harmed in the production of this post. <G>
Got woke up at 0830 by machinery entering the yard. The contractor had
arrived to lay out and dig the holes for the foundation piers for my
new shop. They pushed some tired old snow out of the way, and set up
2R Truck N. of DC on 3/26?31 Mar 2005 04:01 GMT1
Anybody in the NG pulling a car trailer on which there was a red and
primer 2R Studebaker Pickup last Saturday afternoon? 'Wife and I were
headed southbound on I-270 toward Washington DC mid-afternoon Saturday,
March 26th when I noticed said 1949-1953 Stude 2R truck in red and gray
Clevis length31 Mar 2005 03:53 GMT4
We put a little 232 v8, and 3 speed with OD out of a 51 into my 49 c-cab and
had to make a few mods to the clutch rod's location on the frame.  I am
still using 3 on the Tree shifting.
When the truck first hit the road it wouldn't go into 3rd gear, so I
