The movie 'Ray' had a cool Stude22 Mar 2005 23:06 GMT2
Looks like Ray Charles' vehicle of choice at one time was a svelte burnished
bronze '51 Land Cruiser. One of the members of our local Stude Drivers Club
was restoring one a couple years ago. If I ever buy a '51 I'd look for a
Land Cruiser. Something about the length of that car ...

Manifold project22 Mar 2005 16:32 GMT1
Yesterday I decided to experiment with direct vacuum to my Distributor
since I will have no ported vacuum when I install my Webers. Only change
I had to make was turn out the idle screw about half a turn and open the
mixture valves about 1/4 turn. Didn't notice any change in ...

Sort of OT-Oldsmobile Jetfire22 Mar 2005 15:09 GMT24
A 1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire found me on Sunday so I had to buy it <g>.
This is a fairly special car and the first I can remember even seeing in
my life (now I own one).  They were made in '62 and '63 only.  It was
the only way you could get a 2 door hardtop in an F-85.  The '63 ...
Busted my a.s O.T.22 Mar 2005 14:36 GMT12
Well, actually, I think I fractured my tail bone in a fall down the
steps a few days back. I heard a crack at the time, but assumed it was
the stair. I did a Net search, and found it'll hurt like hell for
anywhere up to a month, but no treatment is available or needed now ...
Body parts22 Mar 2005 14:34 GMT6
Is SASCO the best place to purchase body parts?  Specifically I want to
buy a hood front fenders and a new windshield for my 65 Commander.  I
have been looking through that cracked windshield for more than twenty
years and now I have some money so I would like to get it replaced.  ...

How do you do this?22 Mar 2005 04:23 GMT10
How do you re-attach the cowl moldings [the ones between the windshield
wipers] on a GT Hawk?  They were removed when I got the car - I had
them re-plated and the only satisfactory way I can see is to remove the
dashboard.  Any secrets out there?  Or, just sympathy and bad words.
Eye test <OT>22 Mar 2005 03:51 GMT6
Ran across this on another newsgroup, what you are supposed to do is
look at the two pictures and find three differences between them.
Fair warning, when it hits you your going to about fall out of your
chair, I know I did!  It may also give you a bit of an adrenalin rush.
Fast camera.22 Mar 2005 03:07 GMT10
Read the description of the front cover of 3/05 TW.
The speed of the car blurs the G on Goodyear only about one letter
worth.
Using the 200 - 210 MPH speed stated and a rough guess at the resulting

How necessary is the comverter alignment tool for reinstalling a Flight-O-Matic? Are these available? Or is it just a trial and error endeavor?
