In the course of moving my '62 Champ 3/4 ton today (got it started and
drove it to its new parking spot), I noticed the engine number is
3E1555. Is this a heavy-duty 289?

I tried running that rear engine mount (tranny, actually) on SASCO's
site. I have 1564701. No stock? Studebaker International lists it, but

I just watched the re-re-re-run of the episode of American Hot Rod where

   Here's yet another amazing example of the advantages of rust free
cars. Anyone that had to cut the bolts for the rear springs because they
were frozen in the bushings will be impressed by the condition of the
bolts that came out by hand. Here's the pix of a 40 year old bolt ...
