| throttle bell crank, '65, '66 "6" | 26 Mar 2005 05:26 GMT | 3 |
I need the throttle bell crank that bolts to the engine for a 65/66 six. This is the shaft that rotates when you push the gas pedal, moving the rod attached to it, then attached to this assembly. then the carb. I have several good pre 65 V-8 ones if interested in a trade.....KM

| anyone with a parts 65/66? | 26 Mar 2005 05:18 GMT | 8 |
Need the tubular rear tranny mount for an automatic. Funny looking beast. Don't know if it has a rubber insulator or not. Can't tell by the picture. I wonder how hard it would be to fabricate? Anyone willing to look under their '65/66? Measurements? Thanks in advance. KM

| anyone have a parts book? | 26 Mar 2005 04:57 GMT | 6 |
I have in front of me a three spoke '55 steering wheel *without* horn ring that just showed up on my doorstep today. Unfortunately, while it comes with the horn button, I don't have the little piece with the three plastic blocks that it snaps into. Also unfortunately I left my ...

| Green wrapper update | 26 Mar 2005 04:51 GMT | 15 |
I'm back working on the green wrapper R2 clone again. BTW, I have not picked a color yet, but it won't be green. I started with the lightest body/frame possible, a rust free 64S Challenger 2 door with zero accessories, I picked up a NOS red interior from SASCO (door and

| Vintage Truck Magazine | 26 Mar 2005 04:40 GMT | 1 |
The April 2005 "Vintage Truck" features a cover story on SDC member Larry Smith's 1941 M5 & M16 trucks. The color photos are great, and the story is a good read. I've seen both of these trucks in the past, and they are easily 400 pointers. Also check out the column entitled

| rear automatic tranny mount | 26 Mar 2005 03:03 GMT | 9 |
Can someone give me the page in the 59 thru 64 shop manual that has the rear tranny mount for a V-8 automatic? I just can't seem to find it, and I know it's there. If memory serves it's a flat thing that mounts to the boss just behind the pan. I need one (yesterday, of course).

| '51 braking issue | 26 Mar 2005 02:49 GMT | 1 |
I've been bugged lately by the first few times I use the brakes in my '51 coupe, after it's been sitting for a few days. The left front brake will grab but the right side doesn't. After a few white-knuckle stops it all works properly. I took the right front brake system apart, ...

I need an answer from some of you mechanical engineer types because I can't find my reference books. I need some special grade 8, 3/8 x 24 bolts and contacted ARP. They didn't have what I needed in regular grade 8, but they had them in stainless. They stated that the grade 8s ...

| What happened to "character" in new cars? [O.T.] | 25 Mar 2005 17:20 GMT | 29 |
I made a business trip to San Jose, CA this week, rented a car. And by that I mean a really generic "car". It had a blue "bowtie" on the front grille and the rear trunk lid. The rear rubber bumper had "Chevrolet" subtly molded into it and there was a chrome "Classic" script ...

| So You Like Chili, Huh? (ot) (joke) | 25 Mar 2005 13:26 GMT | 6 |
A young cowboy walked into a seedy cafe in a small town in West Texas. He sits at the counter and notices an older cowboy with his arms folded staring blankly at a bowl of chili. After about 15 minutes of just sitting there staring at it, the young cowboy
