I was talking to my dad's new neighbor this afternoon.  He moved to ND from
Los Angeles last summer and asked me about my Studebakers.  He then told me
about an R2 Avanti he used to own that was Raymond Loewy's personal car (he
had a copy of his registration)... he sold it to John ...
studebaker screensaver25 Mar 2005 10:39 GMT2
Quite a while back someone offered a studebaker screensaver (for your
computer)that used the various scripts that studebaker used on its
cars.  My hard drive went bad and I lost my copy of it.  Does anyone
still have it or know where I can download it?  Thanks!

OT: Refinery headline cold as they come25 Mar 2005 04:21 GMT10
The Blade (Toledo OH, "One of America's Great Newspapers"):

Much as we all enjoy oil conspiracy theories, and Homer Simpson "everybody
f***s off" jokes, would it hurt news writers to hold off just a moment on
Need 3"  freeze plugs, dish style25 Mar 2005 00:52 GMT9
A few years ago made a wonderful Studebaker tool out of what appears to be a 3"
dish style (NOT CUP STYLE) freeze plug.
I have no recollection where I found the plug.  Now, to help the rest of
humanity with Studebakers 1950 through 1966, I want to make some more.

whole issue is entirely my fault for not mentioning that my car had a
non-stock drivetrain he is willing to swap me the pipe I can't use for
the pipe I need.  He said he'd "ship one right out to me" and I just

Wife and I are headed for the serene Quebec countryside. She's going to see
her Mom. I'm going to measure her lot (I said lot, not plot - *g*) for the
garage I'm going to build. Said garage will hold a minimum of 6 cars plus a
large service/restore area. It's part of my ...

The XUV is dead24 Mar 2005 14:04 GMT8
I read a couple of weeks ago in the Automotive News that GM was
discontinuing the GMC XUV that had the retractable roof section, that
Studebaker pioneered over 40 years ago.  Apparently most folks wanted
the extra seat that Envoy had was lost for to produce the XUV.  It was

of us that are interested in driving cars powered by IC engines
