OT: 2006 Pontiac Solstice Roadster17 Apr 2005 00:22 GMT10
I just watched The Apprentice where they had to do a marketing brochure on
the 2006 Pontiac Solstice Roadster.  For a car that is going to be priced at
$19-22K, I think this thing is going to fly off the showroom floors.  It's
pretty much a worthless vehicle for anything other ...

Someone asked me the other day what "STP" stands for?
MG-Rover (Sorta OT)16 Apr 2005 23:58 GMT1
No one else has mentioned it yet, so I will.
Appears MG-Rover of England has nearly gone down the slippery slope of
insolvency, taking 5,000 jobs with it.  Seems to be some parallels to
Studebaker's darkest days in the 1950's....Its just before a general
Do You Want To Know For Sure That You Are Going To Heaven? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know. The good news is that you can know for sure that you are going to Heaven which is described in the Holy Bible as a beautiful place with no death, sorrow, sickness or pain. '66 Wagonaire drawing-Pic request16 Apr 2005 20:12 GMT3
Does anyone have a 3/4 or side view of a '66 Wagonaire? It has to have
the grille, and side-trim (any level). I need one, so I can Photoshop
color choices, and graphics designs. The California Wagon should show up
late next week, and I'm itching to get started on it.
June's Hemmings Classic Car16 Apr 2005 16:18 GMT1
There are several things for the Stude buff to enjoy in June's Hemmings
Classic Car.  First and foremost, is an article titled "Escape from the
Orphanage...Understanding the Appeal of the Packard Hawk" and features
photos and testimonials from four owners, including stude.com's own
100,000th Lark16 Apr 2005 04:37 GMT2
Bob M.,
If you still own the 100,000th Lark you might be interested to know it was featured on the cover and in a brief article in the
June 1959 "Studebaker News" (Vol. 1 No. 3). It describes the sale to Frank Hertzog, rocket engineer with the Aerojet General Corp.

Who is RKStude? 16 Apr 2005 02:48 GMT3
I just received an e-mail with a virus attached from rkstude@aol.com.
Anyone know who that is? Road Runner strips the text and the virus from
the e-mail before I get it, so I can't identify the sender.
I thought it might be someone asking about the magazine sale...
Prestoliter Tidbit15 Apr 2005 22:59 GMT2
Ran across this explanation of the switch from Autolite to Prestolite equipment in a May 18, 1962 Studebaker Service Letter (# S-1045):
"Effective with passenger car and truck production of approximately May 18, 1962 component parts of the electrical system used on 1962 model ...
Having an old daily driver15 Apr 2005 21:40 GMT14
I park my car in front of the auto museum when I'm there
and put (a neater version of) this in the LR window.
Is there anything I missed?

Any Larks for sale in CA?15 Apr 2005 05:45 GMT2
A friend of mine is looking to buy his first Studebaker. I told him I'd see
if anyone on the newsgroup has got what he's looking for.
Lark wagon or sedan in the good running condition. He's got about $5,000.00
to spend. The car needs to be located in CA, so he can look at it.
