I have decided to re-build the Hawk engine. I pulled it down and didn't find excessive end play in the crank. I did find a lot of slop in the fiber timing gear. I replaced it last time and think I should have used an Aluminum one instead. Any thoughts on the difference? I also ...

A friend has an engine out of a 59 Super Hawk. He was told it was a 289. THe number off the engine is: V420466. Thanks, Don Smith

Since I've had two NG'ers hit the BIN on my cars by accident, and now that I've done it, I see how easy it is to screw up. I called ebay and they said they were going to change it 'soon'. It seems you get less warning on a BIN than on a bid.
