Sweet and sour- the Avanti is gone25 Apr 2005 03:20 GMT3
Today I finally loaded the long-ago sold '64 Avanti on a trailer and
delivered it to the man who will store it for my buyer until he comes back
to get it.  While the thing has fought me all for two months as I tried to
get it ready for my buyer, it pulled on to the trailer as ...

Pebble Beach24 Apr 2005 22:08 GMT8
just watch the Pebble Beach show on  the tube. the winning car had a
12,000 man hour restoration. Run the numbers on that at say $75
hour-$100 before parts and materials. <g>
FOM rebuild kit24 Apr 2005 20:49 GMT2
My 64 Commander VI goes nowhere after sitting all winter.  The
Flight-O-Matic looks all clean inside with no obvious broken pieces, so my
guess is that it probably needs a rebuild (new bands).  I've checked all the
obvious places (including the catalogs at my local autoparts
Undercoat question24 Apr 2005 17:03 GMT5
Gang, any recommendations for something I can spray inside a cleaned set of
doors & trunk lid?  I guess it would have to have an extended nozzle
fitting (like a can of WD-40) to get in the tight spots.  I seem to
remember something like this..?

A few years ago I had my little 63 two door with twenty thousand original
miles painted...or at least they threw something at it that sort of
resembled paint. The guy was highly recommended and I had known him for
years.  What I DIDN'T know was that he had developed a nasty ...

Green wrapper update24 Apr 2005 14:18 GMT1
I'm a the very bottom of the restoration curve on the wrapper.
Engine and transmission is out, hood, truck and doors are too, they are
stripped and primed with etching primer. Just spent a solid week sanding
and prepping the body shell. All paint is off, the little dents and
(FS) Help! 45 year parts collection must go.24 Apr 2005 07:22 GMT1

friend and neighbor who has been selling off a 45 year Stude collection.
Many of the cars are gone, although about 8 remain. However the reason I am
posting today has to do with the parts, of which there ...
