Just received word that Pete Page and his grandson Darrin Page will be
running Pete's beautiful yellow 1935 Dictator Roadster for 2 days in
the Great Race.  They will be running from Davenport, Iowa to Grand
Island, Nebraska.

Ok here is one...I went to time my 62 champ 259 and the timimg marks
are not even close...COULD the balancer be on wrong ? If I thought I
put it all back together right when I put a gasket kit in it....If
thats the case can I mark a new TDC on it and use that or am I going to

My 1996 Grand Cherokee (4.0 liter) has developed a transmission
problem. When starting out in drive, it's starting out in 2nd gear. It
makes a grinding noise when that happens. If I shift down to 1st
manually, nothing happens. 2nd works, as does drive and overdrive.

Have heard of this book, Requiem to a Pioneer, but have never seen a
copy.  Does it contain much more than is documented in Turning Wheels
and elsewhere?  If it is just a compilation of newspaper articles from
the time, I'd anticipate a bunch of speculation and the like.  The TW

My current West Virginia antique auto registrations expire 7/1 (five year
plates).  I got the notice to renew at $35 each.  They explained that a new
series of plates would be issued this this time.  That seemed a bit higher,
but not that bad for five-year plates.  So, 6/3 I sent ...
