66 Daytona Starting Problems07 Jun 2005 05:12 GMT4
My 66 Daytona refuses to start lately after the engine is warmed up. Starts
right up when it's cold and runs good. Any advice on what could be the
problem? The only way to get it to start once it's warmed up is to spray a
shot of starting fluid in the carb, then it fires right up ...
Asa Hall's collection of Studebakers - auction Sept. 11, 200507 Jun 2005 04:38 GMT7
Asa Hall, who died last year, had a magnificent collection of Studebaker
trucks, car, and collectible items.  You may remember his big, red M16 grain
truck from the South Bend nationals in 2002.  Asa had a long history of
dedication to Studebakers, especially trucks.  He had many ...
OT Oliver tractors07 Jun 2005 04:06 GMT6
Awhile back I bought a diesel Oliver tractor to use on my property.
This morning, while searching different sites regarding the Oliver tractor,
I discovered that Oliver made parts for the old Studebaker wagons..
And that Oliver was operated on Sample St under the name of South Bend ...

T-Bow's Sway Bar07 Jun 2005 03:00 GMT12
Okay, I'm the King of Procrastination...I admit it!
At the Intl Meet in SB (damn, was it 3 years ago already?) I bought one
of Dave Thibeault's (sp?) heavy duty front sway bars for my 78 Avanti.
I finally got around to installing it today...only I can't get the J

Went to a Deal's dollar store and picked up a $1 CD called "Gangster
Story" staring Walter Matthau,
Newest car was a 1958 Impala convertible, and the star of the movie at
the end was an M series canvas covered stake bed, l'm sure they made a

Now there's a home improvement show06 Jun 2005 21:02 GMT10
The WB is showing Mobile Home Disaster.  Basically instead of building a
family a new home like on the other network, Bill Engvall (from Blue Collar
TV) is renovating a family's mobile home to "make them the envy of the
trailer park".  I think it'd be cheaper to cart this thing ...

289 distributor lubrication06 Jun 2005 17:10 GMT4
My distributor has a side tube for lubricant to be added.   The
schedule of maintenance is on the lube charts.
The stated requirement is 20W oil.    I have not been able to find 20W.
Just blends like 20-50, etc.  Well if I can't get a hold of 20W oil
Portland Hawk06 Jun 2005 16:43 GMT8
This is a very interesting listing for a '60 Hawk.  They have a lot of
pictures and the car looks dirty, but very solid- no real sign of rust, nice
chrome for the most part, very straight, decent interior, overdrive, no
reserve, low opening bid.  At the very end of the listing ...

Rubber, How Long Does It Last?06 Jun 2005 15:34 GMT6
A question popped up on another forum about how to prep a caliper for long
term storage.
A fair question.....
Didn't want to get into a technical discussion about elastomers and metal
What do you suggest?06 Jun 2005 15:16 GMT6

trouble is - the car set in a garage for 17 years. Obviously, it is
filthy dirty.  Underneath this grime it still looks great!  I've never
had a vinyl topped vehicle before.  How should I treat this, both for
