Daily drivers27 Jun 2005 11:29 GMT10
A few weeks ago the brakes on my Jeep started acting up, because of that
and a couple of other issues I started driving my truck to work.
Well one thing led to another and it's now been about six weeks since I
started driving my truck every day, I've driven the Jeep once (on

V8 exaust manifold questions27 Jun 2005 03:46 GMT16
Couple of questions about V8 exhaust manifolds.
I've got a leak on the right side that I've been battling forever, even
took the manifold off and put all new gaskets on, fixed it for about a
week, and it seemed like there was something funny about the gasket
rolling diameter of 6.70-15?27 Jun 2005 02:13 GMT13
I remember a post (was it Paul Johnson?) a while back with pics of
various tires, one of which was an old 6.70-15 - does anyone know what
the rolling diameter was if that was measured?  (if not, I have some
fairly old ones that I can measure but I am not sure that they are
just FYI wheel fitment data point27 Jun 2005 01:54 GMT2
got all four of the wire wheels mounted on the '55 coupe today and they
fit great!  they're a generous 7" wide, with a zero offset including the
spacer/adapters (about 4" backspacing measuring from the very outside of
the rim.)  Without the spacer/adapters they have an inch of ...
Braking mystery solved!27 Jun 2005 01:03 GMT14
Remember a few weeks ago I was going nuts over my business coupe's pulling?
New everything up front and no matter how many times I adjusted, one side
squealed & grabbed to where I wasn't using the car anymore?
Today I was going to swap the shoes, so I lifted her up; pulled the ...
Seats for R3 valves26 Jun 2005 18:01 GMT5
I bought a set of R3 intake & exhaust valves from Studebaker International
to install in my heads.  S.I. does not carry seats for these valves.
Lionel Stone carries the intake seats but I do not see anything for the
exhaust seats.  Does anyone know where they can be had or if the ...
Cheap cars O.T.26 Jun 2005 17:37 GMT8
Here's a good read about the auto industry. Notice the pay of the
workers that make the $6000 new car and the cheaper cars to come.

I occasionally search the Autotrader for Studebakers and found this one.
A rather unusual car somewhere in Quebec. Thought that someone might be
interested.

Advice26 Jun 2005 03:09 GMT3
Asking here rather than studying the parts books because the answers along
with the quips is more fun. Having thrashed the 224 in my '55 coupe I needed
a new engine.Found a '60 259 w/3-speed OD. I also have in my grubby mitts a
'62 4-speed,bellhousing,flywheel etc and am ...

Need an overdrive transmission26 Jun 2005 03:02 GMT4
I'm still looking for a '58 through '64 T86 with od for Snurdley's
Cruiser.  Mike, his son is driving it and Snurd and I had planned on
replacing the standard with an od and replacing the single pull 3:31
with a higher number TT rear.  I told Mike we would still do it and I
