| Question about Oswald. | 08 Aug 2005 02:14 GMT | 14 |
I could be wrong; but I thought Oswald was: 1.) In the USMC, 2.) flunked out of his marksmanship training and had to be re-trained and barely passed. What I do know is that in Dallas in November; having lived there,

| Why there are old car fires... | 08 Aug 2005 01:13 GMT | 6 |
Note the apparent composition (material) and location of the temporary fuel service! YEOW! (Actually, the car doesn't look that bad if you get past the presentation. The padded dash is unusually nice for one of these.)

| Good Studebaker Day | 08 Aug 2005 00:57 GMT | 3 |
Finally after a year of fixing this and changing that the 62 GT Hawk that I bought from California went to it's first car show up here in VT. I drove it roughly 60 miles each way to the show on rural two lane roads. Over all it went well, no major break downs, however the temp. ...

| Bribery? (OT?) | 07 Aug 2005 21:56 GMT | 4 |
Since Studebaker brought Mercedes to the U.S. market, I guess it's not totally off topic? Maybe we now know why Studebaker and Mercedes stayed at arm's length of each other. Studebaker was very helpful to Mercedes, helping them learn what was needed to sell cars in the U.S. ...

| Sender gasket leak | 07 Aug 2005 20:33 GMT | 4 |
Twice now, I've had the sender out of the '55 due to it leaking there. Using a new SW gasket, the first time clean and dry...the second time using RTV to help seal, and it still leaks. Grr! The RTV turned to mush, so obviously that FLAPS recommendation is no good. What have you ...

| Feeling unique | 07 Aug 2005 16:36 GMT | 2 |
Driving the Avanti to work Tuesday, cruising down Santa Monica Blvd. with the sun gleaming off the paintwork, listening to the rumble of the exhaust and basking in the admiration and envy of the brand X drivers. Glanced right as I passed a gas station and waved to the driver of a ...

| *%$#@! spring shackle bushings! | 07 Aug 2005 15:26 GMT | 9 |
I've been struggling with removing the old spring bushings from the '63 Wagonaire. After 42 years of damp, the bolts were rusted tight in the sleeves and were a bitch to get out. I finally had to put the impact driver on them to rip the rubber apart between the inner and outer ...
