R3 Header Clearance Issue28 Aug 2005 02:20 GMT5
Has anyone put a V8 with R3 cast iron headers in a 59 Lark and if you did,
how did you resolve the major and I emphasize major clearance problems with
header to steering box (Ross box)?  Background before questions come in:
engine mounts are in the correct holes for left hand ...
This is a new one (engine descripton)28 Aug 2005 02:13 GMT2
I have seen lots of less-than-knowledgeable people call the Studebaker 289 a
Ford engine, but this one is pretty imaginative.

Neat phish28 Aug 2005 01:16 GMT2
This one is really tricky with all the ebay graphics. It was sent to my
losing bidder on the GT. He wants the losing bidded to send him the
money for the Hawk that was sold.<g>
Saginaw 4 Speed OD28 Aug 2005 01:13 GMT7
The BW, T10, OD conversion, (in the T-85 thread), attracted a lot of
interest.
It turns out the lighter duty Saginaw 4 speed is a natural for
conversion - no special parts needed.

Interesting Day27 Aug 2005 22:43 GMT1
Played Hooky from Jeff Rice's place today and staying home to work on the Sky Hawk and to weather the storm. Mostly today I worked on repairing the damage to the fenders from a bad body man. And I got the patches done by noon. Went home for lunch open the mail and I had a letter ...

Poor N8 (again)27 Aug 2005 13:31 GMT4
N8 asked me to get a price to steam clean the chassis/engine of his
55 and it turned out to be $150 or so which got me thinking. I conned N8
into kicking in for a possible winning bid on a nice steam cleaner for
us to use whenever. Here it is, quite a buy too :
Good News! <OT>27 Aug 2005 11:46 GMT11
A year or so ago the Starlite Drive In in Durham NC burned down.  Very
sad, one of the few remaining Drive In's left in North Carolina.
The great news is after a lot of hard work this weekend the Starlite is
reopening Saturday night with a showing of "The Dukes of Hazard" and
T85 Overdrive27 Aug 2005 10:49 GMT32
Have a fellow that runs the Mexican Road Race and is looking for one of
these to put in his Stude.  Also needs a floor shifter.  If anyone out
there has either, let me know and I'll put you in touch with him.  He
is located in Pennsylvania.
Another mileage claim that I don't believe.27 Aug 2005 06:24 GMT7
Doesn't the front seat  look well used as evidenced by the depressions? Is
that stock upholstery?
Is that a worn through place I see at about 7 O'clock on the clutch pedal?.
I think he is dreaming with that starting bid.
Studebaker 56 GH on Ebay27 Aug 2005 05:16 GMT3
This went cheaper than I would have expected.   While the chrome is not as
nice as some might want, over all the car does not look that bad in the
pictures.  The 56 wheel covers are not that hard to find.   Under the hood
and the loose wiring is not too pretty.
Venezuelan Oil O.T.27 Aug 2005 04:51 GMT31
Oil may take another big price jump if Chavez cuts off our oil after
Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested on-air yesterday that
American operatives assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
