The the Blasting is done. . .27 Sep 2005 01:56 GMT1
Found a few more surprises on the body shell after soda blasting the shell. But  in all a very solid Sky Hawk.  Frame is completely clean and looks great too. Pictures will be up by tomorrow night. Just wish the gremlins wasn't attacking Graphic Workshop again.

Tabs on 1958 Golden Hawk chrome pieces27 Sep 2005 00:08 GMT2
Any advice on the tabs that hold the inner sheet metal on 1958 Golden
Hawk chrome side pieces next to the grill?  They look like they can be
ground off and then the sheet metal put back in with small screws?  I
will need to take the sheet metal off in order to get them rechromed.

Ran over to the Ocala Clasic Cruisers' car show last night.
Decent sized crowd, and a few new cars (a SS 409 Chevy drag racer, and a
full custom Riviera from Pennsylvania.
Head Gaskets26 Sep 2005 21:14 GMT8
This is sort of a technique poll. When you replace a head gasket:
Do you use a sealer?
What?
Why?

That 42" sign26 Sep 2005 05:42 GMT7
I'm curious about that sign in that I have a 25 1/2" round sign that
says in white lettering around the outside on blue background
"Authorized Service and in the center "Studebaker" on red background.
I figured this sign to be worth maybe $75 at most.  It is like new. If

South Central Zone Meet26 Sep 2005 03:30 GMT3
Ever throw a party and have no one come?  Despite hurricane Rita, we
were relieved that was not the situation for our meet this past
weekend.  We were spared the ravages of the  hurricane  in Denton, TX -
just overcast and 30-40 mph winds all day. (It is so dry that the rain
Jump-start 6-volt26 Sep 2005 03:11 GMT4
We have a club member locally who is asking if there is such a thing as a
six-volt jump-start kit (like they sell for 12-volt systems).  I have never
heard of one and told him that.  For some reason he doesn't want to have to
take the battery out of the car.  I suggested that he ...

How long do shocks last? AND THE BIGGEST QUESTION, what are the
indications that your shocks are shot when stopping?  Especially in
the rear?

Interesting day...
I was running in fear of the wife unit Thursday night, who was in real
estate showing prep frenzy until 3am...
Friday came and went without bloodshed, and ended all right..
Studebaker Signs & Banners25 Sep 2005 23:24 GMT7
I bought the 42" sign on Ebay that had a piece of chain welded on the back.
I paid $202.50 for it.  Today I saw the same type at a car show, I was
told "Due to the poor condition of the sign (that was at the car show) it
was worth $600 to $800.  Did I get a good deal since mine has ...
