My dad recently purchased a 63 289 long block. We removed the oil pan and found the part number 1557148 cast into the pistons, but I haven't been able to find the number in any of my parts books. The best I can tell is that they are flat top pistons but I am not sure. Your help ...

I was using the composite cylinder head to header gaskets on my R3 headers. They blew out. I bought a set of steel gaskets, they still leak. Any recommendations for a sealer to put on the steel gaskets? Something that won't blow out? Thanks.
