Fine Tuning R4 Avanti02 Nov 2005 14:03 GMT7
On the way to the FL State Meet, I noticed the R4 Avanti was
bucking/surging around 65 mph. On the way back I adjusted the carb.
linkage from progressive to sequential.  BIG DIFFERENCE.  The car was
not kicking down when the pedal was all the way to the floor so tonight

Since Calvin challenged me to polish a turd, I took a few pix of part 1.
I compounded the paint, detailed the wheels. Next, polish and detail
more under the hood and elsewhere.

Tail light problem02 Nov 2005 03:23 GMT2
The tail lights on the new supercharged Silverhawk do not work with the
headlights on. They do work with the park lights. The turns signals and
brake lights work fine. Is the problem in the switch? Thanks in
advance, Ronnie Scheller, Marysville, Kansas
Movie review O.T.02 Nov 2005 02:29 GMT9
Rent the movie "Crash" (2005 release) Nothing about Studebakers, nor

I am back!02 Nov 2005 00:44 GMT9
Hi, Guys and Gals,
Just a short note to say that I am back. My wife's chemo is done with

haul since March. I miss the NG, but have been lurking when I got the
62 Hawk GT:  Dash board paint finish?02 Nov 2005 00:22 GMT3
I have the dash of my 62 Hawk GT out of the car.    I thought I would
paint it before re-install.    I have not seen an example in person to
go by.  Were the dashes painted Hi Gloss, Gloss, Low Gloss, or Satin?
And should I paint the inside wind shield trim to match or was it a

Whatever happened to mechanical power steering and why?01 Nov 2005 22:18 GMT17
I was reading some old Stude road tests today.  In '53 the mags seemed very
happy with the "new" mechanical power steering introduced that year.  I
know it was replaced by the hydraulic type very early in the model year
but wondered:  Did they test it before they installed it?  How ...
more pix from Studebaker National Museum festivites01 Nov 2005 19:18 GMT14
Today was a sort of "preview" day, as the Indiana AOAI chapter had a
meeting already scheduled at the museum! We got to see everything as it
was being finalized for tonight's party. Saw and talked with Studeski,
Tom Noller and Bob Palma. Went to dinner at Tippecanoe, having a ...

Any NGers have parts for a '46 Skyway Champion, or know where one is
