OK whats up with this Hawk19 Nov 2005 04:39 GMT6
I think this is the same guy that had a '64 Dark Red Hawk last year.
He has had this '62 on ebay at least 3 times now.  Looks sharp but is
it the price or is there something else I am missing?

Avanti hat test18 Nov 2005 12:32 GMT7
I've been reading in some other forums that the Avanti is as tall as it
is because Egbert insisted that he be able to wear his hat in the car.
I knew that Larks "passed the hat test", but is there any truth to the
Avanti story?
Pertronix18 Nov 2005 10:22 GMT13
I just installed the Pertronix points eliminator in my 65 six cyllinder
Commander yesterday and I wish I had done it years ago.  I had almost
given up on the old girl for anything more than driving to the store
but now she runs almost like she did a hundred thousand miles ago and
An Electrical Test (ot)18 Nov 2005 03:52 GMT18
So you think this newsgroup is irrelevant?
So you think nothing is ever discussed here that involves knowledge?

Would make  a rodder cry.18 Nov 2005 03:13 GMT11
You know how the street rodders often pick a nice car to rod ? I saw
something today that might cause a street rodder some sadness. I stopped
off at a buddies local rod shop today, and he showed me a stunning Viper
V10 powered chopped 51 Mercury coupe, done by Boyd Coddington ...
ON TOPIC - Auto Paint & EPA 18 Nov 2005 03:08 GMT52
If there's ever been a time to release the political fury of this group on a
worthwhile cause, this is it.  Everyone here should do what little they can
to avoid another R12/R134A fiasco from happening.  And yes, I consider this
ON TOPIC:
Wheel stud size?18 Nov 2005 01:55 GMT12
I broke down and ordered a set of Cragars for my Lark and now have to hunt
down right and left threaded nuts and a set of wheel locks.
Anyone know, off hand, what size threads they be?
Thanks!
Transmission help?17 Nov 2005 23:46 GMT4
I recently revived  a ’60 Lark 8 out of a field for my wifes 30th
birthday present.  The car is equipped with a 3 speed /O.D.. The
problem now facing us is that when the car is placed in reverse there
is major slipping and clunking from the transmission to the rear axle.
How does it know?(OT)17 Nov 2005 22:26 GMT4
Im not used to new cars ya know, and they have become so much more
sophisticated and smart then when Studes were built, but this rigs got one
featute that really blows me away.

White 1962 E-bay Hawk17 Nov 2005 12:10 GMT1
Well it seems that the white 62 on e-bay is competing fiercly with
Johns R1- 63. I sorta like the Red one better.The seller{used car
dealer} e-mailed me back  telling me it was the one that was listed
some two to three months ago on e-bay and the auction ended early

Well guys, packing is under way for Reedsville.  Will be leaving in the AM with a box trailer and meeting Jim Lawrence (FBN Upholstery) who's bring a sharp '69 Avanti II to sell.  Hope to be there mid afternoon to unload.  Seeya there and have a safe trip.

Clock (E-Bay)17 Nov 2005 04:49 GMT2
Sorry if this offends any NGer that might be offering the clock, but My God,
it is about as ugly as they come!  It cannot be any representation of an
original can it?

Vintage seat covers17 Nov 2005 03:18 GMT1
What happened to all of the vintage seat covers that used to be for sale at
every swap meet and on eBay all the time?  They had the neat old nylon
patterns with cotton sides.   They've disappeared; you never see them
anymore at swap meets.  I need a set for my 51 Champ 4-dr.
