Studebaker Fire Chiefs car17 Dec 2005 01:40 GMT5
The thread about the simulated '63 Fire Chiefs car got me thinking.
I've seen a few Studebaker truck fire engines. Does anyone know about
actual use of a Studebaker car used for a fire chief's car? Not
interested in police cars or ambulances. Pics or a place to fins pics

Just had to share this with you guys...
Rick Courtier has created this image for the "background" for the
Service Bulletin CD-Project. I'll also use it on the IC-Chapter website
that I am building- to support the project.
Closed circuit for NATE:16 Dec 2005 18:41 GMT5
Nate,
Knowing that the modern radial tire is shorter- that is, a smaller
circumference- than the old bias ply tires that were in use when Stude put
3.31 rear-ends in our cars, what tires can you get to maximize
Ebay idiot  O.T. 16 Dec 2005 17:13 GMT6
This bidder shows up on the ebay NG bitching about being ripped off for
over $400 in a "mystery auction" BTW a mystery auction is selling a
mystery item, you have no idea what you are getting. He bid on a "Big
empty envelope", but he was told he'd get a gift of at least a 1000

Fuel line question16 Dec 2005 11:08 GMT9
My Lark has had an odd problem, when the tank gets to about 1/3 full the
car runs out of gas.  The gage shows 1/3 tank and it takes about 12
gallons to fill it, so it seems as though the gage is accurate.
I was thinking the fuel pickup line in the tank might have a hole in it

I forget who wanted this, but I took the blower off my '55 coupe and
there was enough left of the decal to see where it was positioned from
the factory... sorry can't tell you which way to turn the lettering though

Good Studebaker Saturday15 Dec 2005 23:36 GMT8
This weekend I had a chance to think about the comments we so often
hear (and for the most part they are true) about the aging of the
Studebaker owners and how that will soon affect the SDC and such.  The
Eastern North Carolina Chapter had its annual business meeting/planning

The 56 Golden on ebay that someone suggested was worth 12K, was bid to
over double that and did not make reserve.

Front disk brake wheel bearing adjustment15 Dec 2005 20:32 GMT6
I am changing out my front drums to disk brakes using a Turner brake
kit.   This is on my 1962 Hawk GT.   Installation has been a snap so
far.   To put  the hubs onto the spindel I need to install the new
wheel bearings.   How they fit is clear by the way the inside of the

New repro item15 Dec 2005 16:24 GMT3
It's a 62-66 Lark ash tray guard. You can repro your own if you have
a used late model sill plate. Cut to size, wet sand and buff.
