Had a great visit with Bondo Billy and his wife tonight.
We went out to an old restored woof ceiling gas station restaurant.
Good eats. Good talk.

Truck automatic trans04 Feb 2006 01:03 GMT7
In the corner of a friend's tranny shop is a Detroit Gear tranny with
an emergency brake band on it.  He says it came out of a Stude truck
and he rebuilt it long ago but the owner never came back.  Did Stude
trucks ever use the DG trans?  He is getting ready to retire and has

Yesterday, at lunch me, my grandpa, and cousin Josh, (the 5 year old)
took my Daytona to Burger King, then to every parts store in town
trying to find a set of shock absorbers and a cherry bomb glass pack
for the exhaust system. Didn't find either... The Daytona did ok, but

the gills.  Opened the engine and found about 3 inches of hard gunk had
accumulated in valve covers, intake valley, oil pan.  Oil ...

Speedster Horn Button03 Feb 2006 14:20 GMT2
The horn button listed for a 55 is 800760, gold with a clear top with and an
S inside on sort of a grey background.  This is the same button shown on
most Speedsters.  The button that was on my Speedster had a tristar on
concentric circles.  Where did this button come from?

What series of stainless steel was used for trim?02 Feb 2006 20:43 GMT7
Hey Everybody,
I'm curious as to what series of stainless was used for the trim on
Studebakers, specifically the pre-war models.  I assume it is in the
300 series, perhaps 316, but I don't really have a clue.
