Looking for Pre-War Front Suspension04 Apr 2006 15:08 GMT5
Hey Gang,
After a lot of hard thought I have decided to go with a traditional
front suspension on my CE.  With that in mind, does anyone know where I
can find a leaf spring front suspension with the beam axle in the
Cheap Avanti update04 Apr 2006 14:29 GMT3
Spoke to the elderly owner of the Avanti. He brought it in in the
trailer in the ebay pictures back in 2001. The PO, had taken it apart as
running, driving car about 15 years ago and boxed up the parts. I may
try and bolt it back together and get it moving on it's own power to ...
Brake work needed04 Apr 2006 09:39 GMT1
Was out driving the Hawk  and I never had a doubt about the brakes until
today.  Another driver pulled out in front of me and while the brakes
stopped the car in time it sure wasn't straight, quiet or pretty.  One rear
wheel locked up and a very nasty pull to the right.  Its been ...
drove my Studebaker today...04 Apr 2006 03:09 GMT15
no, this isn't an April fool's joke, since it was nice out today and
it's not supposed to rain tomorrow I thought I'd drive my '55 home just
to put some miles on it before I yank the drivetrain for
detailing/stopping the massive oil leaks.  Made it home without
another thing to suck up my free time...04 Apr 2006 00:43 GMT3
might have to put off pulling apart the '55 for a couple weeks, was
driving home tonight and by a local restaurant saw a couple really nice
looking old cars with their hoods up.  Apparently this is a regular
thing, and even better, some of the guys have had some really cool stuff ...

Spent the day finishing the sanding of the awards plaques for the SE Zone
meet.
Sounds easy? (ALL day yesterday was a sanding day)
Try to sand each one to perfection...150 times.

Champ Truck Clutch Linkage Question03 Apr 2006 01:30 GMT5
I have a 63 Champ pickup with pedals suspended under the dash. Recently
the clutch bellcrank rod which runs between the clutch bellcrank and
the pedal bellcrank linkage broke and when I contacted Studebaker
International to get another one I was told that linkage was a design
Saginaw P/S question02 Apr 2006 22:58 GMT10
well, today I started breaking apart the P/S setup I got from Lee... all
I really wanted was the box but someone else wanted the column and the
reservoir on my car was leaky SOOO.... it seemed like a good idea to buy
the whole mess.  Anyway I was planning on using this steering ...

As it's a salvage title it shouldn't bother the Brit purists if I
shoehorned a 289 in it....

apostasy (only kinda sorta OT)02 Apr 2006 03:04 GMT38
Got back from the UK, had a great trip and got my brother's Champ pickup
back on the road (mandatory Stude content). It was just a case of
priming and coaxing as it had sat for a few months after it got to his
place. Entertaining working on a Stude with only a pair of pliers, ...
