Bought a new hood insulator for the Lark. One side is shiny, and the
other side is rough, bare insulation.  Which side gets glued to the
underside of the hood? The shiny side has white lettering on it.  Not
sure if the shiny side is showing if I would want the lettering to show

I dismantled and cleaned both steering columns (PS type).  The
Automatic Drive unit you sent me was good inside; I'll use it but with
my jacket - less rust.

I have been playing around with my inkjets making logos and oher stuff
so I thought that I might do my mailbox.  I printed out some Authorized
Service Medalions and went to the model shop and got me some fireproof
dope and dope the logos in place.  Three coats later I installed my

After a year or so of looking for my R1 oil pan, breather tube and windage
tray. I have found enough parts to put the engine back together in the
Avanti. But I am still missing the cap bolts. After searching through used
Studebaker main bolt caps I found one, and one only.

collection and I would like a proof read of our ebay listing. Grammer,
spelling errors, helpful rewrite advice, whatever. E-mail comments are

I remember back in the late 70's/early 80's there being talk about
ethanol being harmful to seals, carbs etc...Any concerns warranted ?  I
just filled up my truck with 10% ethanol.  It's all over New England....

The name of the magazine is Make.  They are sponsoring a DIY fair this
week end April 22 & 23 at the San Mateo, Ca fair grounds. Very
inovative stuff.

Avanti radiator needed19 Apr 2006 03:08 GMT3
Anyone have a decent used Avanti radiator ? (AT version) Looks like my
cheap Avanti is going to at least run. I pulled the engine, steam
cleaned it and the under hood, and spun the engine over on the starter.
Compression is a little low (160-170 pounds) but that may improve with
