Cheap GT16 Jun 2006 17:13 GMT2
Sal picked up the cheap R1 GT this morning. It's the car Kelly
resored back in 89, but it's had a hard life since. It was being
restored again in 2000, with $2000 worth of brake and suspension
rebuilding, but the paint and the rest has gone to hell. the body is

lark convertible and ripoff city16 Jun 2006 01:37 GMT2
Hello: Took my lark convertible to the shop thanks to the incident with
Bubba transport and the sway bar. Also told them to check the exhaust
for a rattle. Turned out one tail pipe was rusted out, and both pipes
were set up so they rested on a crossmember and caused a rattle.
Heading to South Bend to pick up the R-316 Jun 2006 01:36 GMT5
As some of you may remember, I sold my Museum R-3 engine.  Consensus has
been that it should be torn down and carefully checked due to sitting for
40+ years.  My buyer has decided to have Jon Myer do that.  Jon will also
add a bellhousing and 4-speed tranny setup.  So, at the ...

Which engine. Original or a plain engine ?16 Jun 2006 01:20 GMT23
Just curious (and more to come), but if you had the chance to put an R2
Avanti back to its original engine, Would you do that or just put in a
plain engine. ??  Would you do all you could to get the original engine
if you knew where it was or just get any engine you could ?
Has anyone the weight of a bare Avanti frame?15 Jun 2006 23:23 GMT1
Just went out and weighed the stainless steel Avanti frame. It is 248#
with the body mounts and front crossmember.
Has anyone weighed a bare Studebaker Avanti frame with no suspension or
components for comparison?

'64 inside rear-view mirror and an OT15 Jun 2006 19:45 GMT1
I did a small favor for a NGer and he wanted to pay me for my time.
I said that a day/night rearview mirror for the '64 CDR would be fine,
figuring that they must be laying about all over. Beauty is no object.
Can anyone supply one if the NGer has none?
Computer Craziness and e-Bay Saves the day15 Jun 2006 19:40 GMT9
My old laptop's backslash key's retainer clip failed the other day so
today I called Dell to see if I could get a replacement clip to put
that key back in place properly....  SURE, says the helpful (HA) sales
person on the other end of the phone.  Unfortunately, it was $59.95
