Car Problems03 Jun 2006 14:59 GMT1
I was driving my 65 home the other night and all of a sudden it lost
all power.  Somehow I limped home and got it safely parked.  I opened
up the hood the next day to see what was wrong.  First off I noticed
that the choke pull off linkage had dissappeared and the carb was
Co-operator03 Jun 2006 05:26 GMT7
In this months Turning Wheels the question was asked about using  a 57
Golden Hawk engine and trans in a very modified  54 Commander. I went along
with everything but question the part about the rear end. He reccommended
that the GH rear end be used as it was much stronger. ...
Drove a Studebaker today03 Jun 2006 04:55 GMT7
Not normally a big deal, but is was in the car formally known as the
cheap Avanti. It's was only up the street and back, but far enough to
know all the important stuff works. It's a good feeling to roll down the
road in a Studebaker that last moved under it's own power on 1978 ...
Email from Sweden03 Jun 2006 03:05 GMT10
Just got a phone call (left a message on my machine) and then an email
from a guy in Sweden that wants to buy a 1938 Studebaker.  I would sell
him mine 'cept I'm just now getting to enjoy it although I would
probably part with it for twenty grand...which it isn't worth...

We took a "relocation" cruise from San Diego to Vancouver. My first

Tried to recruit new members for SDC pasengers hailing from Sydney
(Aust) and Kamloops (BC) during the cruise.
Truck comes to life03 Jun 2006 01:08 GMT12
Finally got the brakes and gas tank sorted out on the 3R11 yesterday -
brakes were beyond junk, took a while to find everything. Got the tank
repaired, sealed and painted, rebuilt the distributor while the rest was
waiting on parts just for fun. Took it out yesterday and damn, ...

The 53 coupe just sold on ebay and is headed back west to Texas.
From his e-mail it looks like we got one more sucked back in. <g>
Partial e-mail:

C'mon now guys...02 Jun 2006 22:24 GMT11
Well, only Jeffy responded to my post about what to offer for the trio
of "parade" bullet noses.  Does everyone agree with Jeff's five hundred
price?  JP?  Barry?

Using F*rd rims on Hawk02 Jun 2006 11:20 GMT3
I have a set of rims off of a Crown Vic or some other full size Ford
15" wheels, and I am wondering if anybody has any luck using them on a
63 Hawk.  The offset, as I am calling it - the plane accross the face
of the rim, measured to the face of the lug holes - is about 3/4"

Win-win-win solution (OT)02 Jun 2006 05:03 GMT15

the levees in New Orleans, and put the Florida alligators in the
moat.
