Abandoned PA Turnpike06 Jul 2006 16:59 GMT25
This is very cool, I remember riding on these sections when I was a kid,
and now they may reopen them (sort of).

Car shippers06 Jul 2006 16:01 GMT3
be careful when shopping for car shippers. Although I recommend
Peg's,  shop around but be careful. A NG'er just got a great quote from
Autotrail so I called Peg to ask why she was so much higher. She just
said "Please don't tell me he paid Autotrail anything", so I did a web ...
Blown head gasket confirmed06 Jul 2006 12:55 GMT8
Several weeks ago I posted that my newly acquired '64 Daytona convertible
had poor compression on two adjacent cylinders (3 and 5).  With no
antifreeze in the oil and no bubbles in the radiator I suspected a blow out
between the two cylinders though I hoped it was just valves ...
Blown head gasket de-confirmed06 Jul 2006 04:12 GMT2
Per my post yesterday re my '64 Daytona convertible, I pulled the left head
fully expecting to see a groove in the head gasket and maybe the head and
block.  No such thing.  The exhaust valve on five looked a little strange,
almost like it was cocked a little.  So, I pulled it- ...
R 12 refrigerant can or retro fit.06 Jul 2006 03:56 GMT15
I am in need of at least 1 can of R-12. Any body have a can they would
part with. Also., are there any recommendations on what would be a good
conversion gas for the 1963 factory Stude unit. Any one that has
changed their refrigerant gas please reply with some details.  thank
64 Daytona Convert F/S06 Jul 2006 03:11 GMT7
OK, here's the deal. Sal and I will offer the 64 Daytona convert we just
bought pretty much as is before prepping for ebay. It's a powershift
bucket seat car with PS and power disk brakes and factory AM/FM. It
could be a 15K or better car with a bit of work and maybe a grand ...

Enginie color 61 T-Cab V805 Jul 2006 17:18 GMT4
Greetings all.
We are rebuilding the V8 motor that goes to my 1961 Red 1/2 ton T-Cab.  What
color should the block be?  Is the color the same for a 259 and the 289?
Finally, I think the valve covers are to be yellow, but would like to
An inconvenient Truth (OT)05 Jul 2006 16:50 GMT208
Just saw this film - very powerful. Had the added pleasure of a 20
minute Q&A with Al Gore afterwards.
Whatever your political beliefs, whoever you voted for - do yourself a
favor, see this film. It's not a political thing - it's a moral thing.
finally some progress...05 Jul 2006 15:19 GMT9
spent today FINALLY putting stuff together.  Saturday I went to torque
down my flywheel and whoops, one of the bolts stripped.  So I regrouped
(after cussing and throwing things) and got some new Grade 8 bolts,
ground one flat down on each one, and... well... you know.  Most of a ...
Apples and Onions05 Jul 2006 15:15 GMT20
Finally doing some test driving of the Champ I have been working on and
it drives just like like every other Studebaker truck I have
driven...like crap....  Truth is it will beat the snot out of you.  It
is kind of fun once you get used to it, but then it gets to be just a

Stock or not that is the question: 56 Packard Executive 2door05 Jul 2006 05:47 GMT12
I figure this topic will not generate much response as any political
issue here but I want to throw it out anyway.

289 Engine rebuild for my President Classic05 Jul 2006 05:21 GMT2
I'm about to get started rebuilding the engine on my 1956 President Classic.
All I need to do is get an engine hoist and stand and it's ready to come
out.  I removed the drive shaft this weekend so the transmission is free to
come out with the engine.  My plan is to keep it stock.
