Studebaker Drivers Club Forums31 Aug 2006 14:46 GMT9
Is there something wrong with the SDC web site forums or is there
something wrong with my computer? I have tried to access the forums and
can't get it to open. All other areas of the site are working for me.

Tech support O.T.31 Aug 2006 13:35 GMT16
I had some problems with drop out on my Vonage voice over Internet
phone service so I called tech support. First four times I called I
spoke to some polite but clueless folks from India that tried
unsuccessfully to fix it. The fifth time was a charm because that seems

OK,  Here's one for you weather guru's or engineers....

Is there a maximum size for a raindrop?
Or, how densely can raindrops be packed during rainfall?
Missed a bargain31 Aug 2006 01:44 GMT5
Sal was on the way to look at this car while picking up another in the
LA area. He got a call on the way down that a guy in Texas had wired the
money to his bank and we missed it by two hours.  I'm a gambler, but did
not intend to wire money without making sure the car existed ...
61 Hawk for sale or trade30 Aug 2006 21:37 GMT1
I have a real nice 61 hawk I rebuilt 6 years ago. Had it all upholstered
inside. Didn't try to make original but did make it look right for the
time. New paint and again it is white with red trim, not Stude colors.
Engine is 289 completely rebuilt, not overhauled. Rebuilt OD ...

Now that I have the R1 engine torn down I have discovered it is a
clover leaf block.  It has a clover leaf by the JT engine # (stamped in
the correct place on the block by whoever replaced the original engine)
with the traces of a clover leaf and a number 8.  The crank has a

cleaning goo out of cooling system?30 Aug 2006 13:19 GMT10
Anyone ever tried any detergents or other cleansers in their cooling
system?  I've put my '55 back together and the cooling system seems to
be mostly clean but the radiator fills up with a fine coating of rusty
goo.  I suspect that this is surface rust and residual gunk left over ...

Sal added new white wall radials, buffed out the paint and did some
detailing. It's not done yet, but should be, and on ebay in a few days.
It really cleaned up nice.

1960 Lark Trunk Trim29 Aug 2006 11:51 GMT6
Does anyone have a nice trunk trim piece for a '60 Lark? I'm putting
together a 1960 Lark VIII 2 door sedan that I have repainted and need the
trunk stainless trim piece. The one that came off of the car had been
drilled and sheetmetal screwed onto the lid. Thanks.
Original Upholstry??29 Aug 2006 11:15 GMT3
Would any of you know if this is original upholstry for a '58 Transtar
pickup, trim number 6061?  It is what the truck came with, but I'm not
sure if it is correct.
I wrote to SMS with this information, but they are unsure and want
