Dana 44 Axle Splines?19 Aug 2006 20:38 GMT1
Does anyone know if the Avanti (II's) used the 30-spline axles in the
Dana 44's?  This is a 78 model (non posi) unit and I'm trying to find
the posi unit and most of the new/remanufactured units all specify "30
spline" axles.

Rear Axle Housing Vent19 Aug 2006 00:16 GMT5
It seems as though this came up recently but I can't find it now. Where is
the rear axle vent located on a type 44?  The question came up recently and
I would just as soon not have to crawl under the car to find it.

Packard19 Aug 2006 00:02 GMT6

production in South Bend. Apparently the SB plant wasn't designed to make
cars as wide as the Packard, and by the time management ...
