Hurst Linkage16 Aug 2006 20:14 GMT3
Has anybody ever put jam nuts on the threads of the linkage?  My 1-2
rod is a little loose in the threaded end. I think that is the reason I
have trouble down shifting to 2nd.
That darn 3rd spark plug on the passenger side....16 Aug 2006 17:00 GMT6

take off that wheel and TRY!!  Unfortunately, I found that I had to be
MORE of a contortionist using THAT method than that of which I was
'57 Packard wagon value?16 Aug 2006 15:35 GMT9
I'm going to look at a '57 Packard wagon about 10 miles from me tomorrow.
It is described by it's 72-year-old Kaiser-Fraser collector as needing
everything, but is all there (including the McCullough).  He says the dash
is good, some rust in floors, cloth all bad.  Original ...
Hurst parts WTB16 Aug 2006 14:10 GMT12
If anyone has an OLD Hurst Competition/Plus installation kit, p/n
373-4734, or a 1-2 shift rod, p/n 213-2138, I could sure use it. I've
purchased two kits from Jeg's for my '55 coupe and the 1-2 shift rod
that is coming with the new production kits DOES NOT WORK. Worse,
Forty years16 Aug 2006 10:20 GMT4
It was about forty years ago today that I wrote a check for $3.00 and
sent it to Harry Barnes.
As the submariner said, "A lot of water has gone over the bridge since
then!"
Brian Scott helped N816 Aug 2006 03:37 GMT8
Brian Scott called me today to remind me that I had sold him a Hurst
shifter and kit sometime back which he had not yet used. The kit part
number 391-7308 is different then the one N8 got and the levers look
correct. He has kindly offered to loan it to N8 until N8 gets a

Strange ebay notifications15 Aug 2006 14:40 GMT1
A little while ago I got a series of ebay messages re "sorry, your item

Brake upgrade on my Wagonaire15 Aug 2006 09:21 GMT6

This car was originally a 6cyl car with a 3speed trans.
The six was removed and replaced with a 259 v/8 out of a 64 Lark, along
with the trans.
