Reedsville Rain or Shine29 Oct 2006 02:13 GMT2
I will be driving my Avanti to Reedsville Friday no matter what the weather
forecast.  Never been there and it's only about 4 hours west of where I
live.  I'm looking forward to meeting a few of the NG posters and friends
that have been so informative over the 11 years I've been ...
Thrown rod28 Oct 2006 21:44 GMT17
Turns out the 4E truck had not "thrown a rod" as listed on ebay, but a
wire was loose on the starter. Once we fixed that, we did hear some loud
rod rapping, but was able to drive it around the driveway. The PO had
been driving it like that, but I never would. Now I need to decide ...

Does this look a bit fishy???
The original TRX15 (16ohm) found in good condition generally sell for
well over $200 and second generation (8 ohm) sell for at least 50% more.
The fuzzy pic and presentation in general arrouse my suspicions not to

time to head back.

Major bone head28 Oct 2006 02:53 GMT13
OK, time to embarrass myself with the bone headed move of the year. I
got the interior in my R2 Hawk and decided it was time for a test drive
to the gas station to check out the new engine. I got half way up the
hill and thought I started to run out of gas and limped home. I ...

Anyone heading north to south on the east coast with an empty trailer?
Trying to figure out if I need to round up a trailer or whatever for my

Ebay spoof Question?27 Oct 2006 18:22 GMT14
I was bidding on a Avanti motor and transmission but didn't stay by the
computer this time and lost. But I did receive a second chance offer. Well
that would have been great except for the fact it was a fraud, phishing type
thing. First tip off was it wasn't addressed directly to me ...
Studebaker in the movies27 Oct 2006 17:47 GMT1
I took my father in law to see the new movie about the six men who
raised the US flag on Iwo Jima in WWII. The movie is Flags of Our
Fathers and is directed by Clint Eastwood.
My father in law is a really great guy. He is a Marine veteran from the
Excellent Key Source26 Oct 2006 23:34 GMT9
Our own Shiva came through in flying colors for me.
Millie's keys were looking a tad wornout and I was down to two ignition
keys.
I emailed him asking for blanks, so I could get keys cut locally.

Looks promising!
New ceramic battery may replace gas engines by 2008.
Texas company is working on an "energy storage" device made from
ceramics. It's not technically a battery because it doesn't use
