Another mechanical puzzler, OT27 Nov 2006 22:59 GMT10
A few years back a fellow firefighter stopped off at the station after a
weekend on the Colorado river. Had his Chevy engined ski boat on the
trailer. Said he hauled it on the 600 mile trip for nothing. Never took it
off the trailer. When he tried to start it, it would start and ...

What side did the factory mount the radio antenna on the Champ pickup ?
Newsgroup Rant, Just a Little One... (ot)27 Nov 2006 13:39 GMT6
Well, I have become so bored with all this stuff lately that I have stopped
reading any post with the reply at the bottom.
Not going to scroll down through five replies to get there...
Setting up driveshaft...27 Nov 2006 05:11 GMT3
So I finally got the car up in the air to hopefully properly determine
what I need to do to set my driveshaft up correctly... this is in a '55
coupe with R1, 4-speed, and rear end from a later car.  The driveshaft
is from a '61 Hawk 4-speed and is 3-1/2" in diameter.  I am using ...
50 champion convert on e-bay,stude listings,strange bumper27 Nov 2006 03:58 GMT1
Hello: Something does't look right with the front bumper on this car.
It extends to far from the front of the  car. I'm not a guru on the 50
studes, but I checked  in my stude buyers guide, and a 50 convertible
has the bumpers flush to the body.  He also states the car has a manual
Toss or save?27 Nov 2006 01:45 GMT3
I was getting out the winter things in the garage this morning, i.e., snow shovels, snow blower, roof rake, etc. and came across a Studebaker rear bumper that I pulled off a'60 Lark 4-dr sedan that was parted out a couple years ago. It has the typical rust belt acne, worst on the ...
HJeard on a Studbaker radio this afternoon27 Nov 2006 01:01 GMT17
A left-nut staion (Air America) ran an ad for a right-nut station
(Fox).
Shouldn't they cancel each other out and leave just static?

Hauler needed26 Nov 2006 22:57 GMT3
No I don't need a Studebaker hauled but something else a bit smaller.
Thinking about buying a crawler from a fellow in Pensylvania and that
is too far for me to drive to load it on my trailer.
I need to know some contacts in the area that are reputable so I don't
ported or manifold vacuum advance for an R1?26 Nov 2006 21:48 GMT1
subject says all... was just experimenting with my car today and it
seems to idle smoother and faster on manifold vacuum...  I can't get
any more advance on the dist (it's already kicking back when I start
it) and it seems to like it so well that before it is fully warmed up
Recruiting younger members26 Nov 2006 15:17 GMT34
In the local stude club that I belong to, many of the members are
older.  My lady friend and I are in our mid 50's and we are some of
the youngest ones in the club.  There are a few others in their mid to
late 30's, but no one younger than that.  Is the situation like that in
Story of Rose the Daytona26 Nov 2006 15:15 GMT10
I first bought a 60,000 mile, 64 Rose Mist 64 Daytona (aka Rose) in
the fall of 2002 at Reedsville. I bought her Thursday afternoon for
$2300 and resold it Friday morning for a small profit. The new owner
wanted to swap in a R2 and as he drove off I thought that would be the
1940 Coupe Values??26 Nov 2006 14:44 GMT5
When I saw this listing I thought someone had stolen our car.  I have one
almost identical sitting out in the building except ours runs and drives.
Other than the seat cover there isn't much of the interior left.
Is there that much demand for coupes that this thing went for so ...
Macanical puzzler, sortof OT26 Nov 2006 09:03 GMT4
In San Jose, I lived in a neighborhood of mid-1950s houses. Many
occupations: Retired,  wallboard installers, car side stripe installer
(free-lance), Baker, Bank VP, sandwich shop owner, Dean of Admissions
at State College, welder, waiter and so on. Lot's of friendly talent
bet that hurt! (kinda OT)26 Nov 2006 01:35 GMT4
I think the car is a '35ish Ford. Hard to tell though.
