I'd always heard that the '62/'63 GT hawk was considered a milestone
car yet I've never seen one roll across the block at Scottsdale or
other major auctions.I've been driving my 63 hawk r-1 for several years
now and am looking for advice regarding restoring it to it's original

Is it a bad idea to have shims under the expansion tank on my
Avanti?these shims were on the driverside,will this lead to hood
clearance problems?we are talking close to 3/8" shim. thanks for any

The tach looks aftermarket to me- otherwise very nice car.  The '39
convertible must be some kind of custom body.

Just beating the bushes here to see who has Studebaker professional

for is something on the style of a racing air cleaner.  Problem is: the
4 bbl throat that I have is 4 1/8", and the modern air cleaners that I

Greetings from a one time owner of a 1953 V8 Commander hardtop. I
bought it used in '55 and had it until I seriously wrecked it in '59.
Mine was white with a red roof and I called it "Red Raymond".  We all
named our cars in those days.

Am painting the 1958 Golden Hawk back to it's original white gold
metalic with white fins and roof.  Does anyone know what white I should
use?  It seems as though a bright white, like a corvette white would
not be correct.  Thanks!

I found out that if I could just add the TH400 yoke to the Studebaker
truck drive shaft I could use the factory shaft with the 425 Caddy swap
into the 59 truck.
  The problem was that one half of the U joint was mechanics style, the
