I bought a '56 F-100 front axle and springs, can anyone pick this up

Had a issue come up today while reinstalled the axles in the truck
rear end that I had regeared to a 3:54 TT from a 4:10. The axles would
go in all but the last half inch and the outer bearing were not seating
in the housing.

Was a new company grand opening.

Well, the melt is slow, but sure.  Got home early today, and chipped the ice
bank away from the back doors of the shop.  Opened up both ends of the shop,
and started the Studes.  Let 'em run up to operating temperature, and shut
'em down.  :-(

Can anyone reccomend a place to have the bumpers for my 50 Commander
straightened and recromed? A friend told me of a guy in North Carolina James
Forrester, but he didn't have any contact info. I'm in the Pacific Northwest
but am willing to send them to have it done.

Never seen the bottom portion of a chrome air cleaner on Avantis..Are they
all chrome or is it just the top portion. Mine is all black  (lower piece)
Taking mine in to get rechromed and want to do it right.  Also would like to
know if the valve covers are different from the usual ...
