Thanks to those here who offered tech advice, today I finally had American
Racing imitation Halibrand (TorqThrust D) wheels, and Firestone PV41 tires,
mounted. Took about a month. They look right, and SEEM to clear OK in hard
cornering (min. clearance to anything is about 1-1/4" ...

I was just told by Peg Trucking that the transport driver who was going to
pick up a 1953 pickup for me yesterday in Kansas was killed in an accident
before he got there.

In the local paper there's a '63 Avanti, R1 automatic for sale for $5500.
The guy claims to have restored many cars in his life but now has a broken
back and cannot do the Avanti.  He likes to talk!  He says the car is 95%
