Blizzak plant burned down?30 Apr 2004 20:46 GMT9
My local tire dealer told me that the Blizzak plant burned down, and that I
would not be able to get any for at least two years.  Tire Rack told me this
was bull, and I shouldn't have any problem at all.  They say they hear these
types of rumors all the time.
2004 WRX Manual Transmission Fluid Change - Observations30 Apr 2004 00:41 GMT18
Finally got a around to doing the change at just under 3800K miles
on the odo.
First of all, I got my Stahlwille 1/2-drive T70 Torx socket last
week, which fit the drain bolt head perfectly.  I tried removing

Does anyone know know when the new 2005 Outbacks might start arriving in

Rear Diff on '92 Legacy:  Bearings29 Apr 2004 22:00 GMT3
When driving around town I can hear a small knocking sound coming
from, what i can tell, the passenger rear corner.  I inspected for
movement/play in the moving suspension parts and cannot find anything
unusual.  However, when i grabbed ahold of the right rear CV shaft i
Tyre choice, Forester UK29 Apr 2004 13:03 GMT1
Looking to replace the standard Bridgestone duellers on an 03 Forester.
I run Vredestein Snowtrac in the winter but am looking for a
recommendation for alternative all season tyres for the summer.
Anyone with a recommendation in the UK or are the Duellers the best
FS:  84 Subaru DL - Cheap!29 Apr 2004 02:31 GMT2
I had to confiscate this car from a rental property, so I don't know its
history.  I was told it may have a bad wheel bearing.  It's a 4-door sedan,
silver w/gray interior.  Licensed (WA) through 5/31/04, but I obtained title
by declaring it a hulk.  Complete car.  Good candidate ...

Forester S-Turbo, Hood Cowl27 Apr 2004 22:17 GMT2
Hi group,
I want to buy a Subaru Forester S-Turbo, 1999 - 2000 model. Wife does
not like the "ugly" air intake on the hood. Can it be removed or
modified to a more neutral/flat appearance?
New Rims27 Apr 2004 16:45 GMT3
Thanks for the help with my bulb question.  Now on to another puzzler.
My 1998 Legacy Outback has the worst looking rims I've ever seen.  I
don't meen they're ugly, but in rough shape.  It looks like the former
owner used the car to let his teenager practice parallel parking in,
Orange Sludge In Coolant Resevoir27 Apr 2004 15:32 GMT3
I recently performed the 30k maintenance on my 2002 OB 2.5l.  Part of
this service was the drain and refill of the radiator and coolant
recovery bottle.  The coolant drained from the radiator was nice and
clean, but I noticed when I drained the recovery bottle that there was
2004 Outback Sedan Hesitation27 Apr 2004 15:28 GMT1
Any ideas on what might be causing the car to hesitate on
acceleration and changing gears? This is an automatic 4 cyl.
At times it feels like you need a lead weight on the gas pedal
to get it to accelerate. It hesitates at each gear change, then

need new tires27 Apr 2004 00:44 GMT9
Got a flat on the way to work yesterday. I pulled up to an intersection and
as far as I know it was fine. Pulled away and I heard the rubbing. There was
a gas station a couple hundred yards ahead, so I drove it up and pulled off.
It had a fairly large bolt smack dab in the center of ...
