98 GT Driver's Door Actuator (again)31 May 2004 01:36 GMT3
I have been struggling with my driver's door lock actuator for a while.
It seems that the actuator itself is functional (tested against the battery
directly and it does work).
I measured SOME current going to the actuator through the two wires, so I
Oil in spark plug tubes30 May 2004 22:07 GMT3
I was pulling the spark plugs on y Y2K Outback and noticed that there
was a little oil on the ignition wire and the spark plug socket coming
out of the tube.  It wasn't very much, just enough to put a thin coat
of oil on.  Is this normal of a boxer engine?

Belt Tension?? 97 Impreza 2.2 ??30 May 2004 19:08 GMT1
How do I set the tension for the A/C and Alternator belts (tell what the
right tension is) on a 2.2L engine??  Just reassembled the engine and
that 'detail' is not in my manual pages...
Thanks!
2000 Subaru GT Sedan30 May 2004 18:05 GMT4
Just got my 2kGT back from the shop.  Yesterday it overheated.
Apparently, both my head gaskets are leaking.  The dealer said it's
covered by a recall and the fix is to add something to the coolant.
This will seal the heads from the inside.  This sounds awefully weak to
miss in engine while passing30 May 2004 04:11 GMT4
I have started noticing a miss in my Outback (H-4) when passing or
pulling a hard uphill grade.  The car has 80,000 miles.  The plugs
were changed at 30,000 (platinum plugs) but the wiring is the
original.  I am suspect the wiring is ready to be replaced.  I will be
repair of cast alloy thermostat cover - advice please29 May 2004 17:05 GMT4
I have an old model subaru wagon and the "neck" of the themostat cover
(where the radiator hose fits) has a small hole corroded through.
I am having trouble finding a replacement part and thought perhaps there may
be a way to patch the hole.

Anyone using Pirelli Scorpion STR's on an Outback?29 May 2004 11:56 GMT1
Recently bought a set of Scorpion STR's, so far so good but waiting for some
rain and snow to see how good they are.
Anyone tried them yet?
Well, I picked it up last night.29 May 2004 11:40 GMT2
My 2004 Outback, that is.  I like it.  Cool car.
I was wondering, can I scrape the stickers off the back window
with a razor blade or will that remove some sort of coating from the glass?
Moonroof and the WRX Wagon29 May 2004 00:01 GMT4
Anybody here have the inside scoop on whether the '05 WRX Wagon will be
offered with a moonroof?  I've got conflicting information from several
sources.
Outback H6 Aluminum Crankshaft28 May 2004 04:48 GMT13
Well, I thought I had my wife convinced of an 05 outback, but she
drove a 2001 LL Bean H6, and she likes it. I've been reading on these
engines and came across a reference from a Subaru site that this
engine has an aluminum crankshaft. Is this good, bad or indifferent? I
1995 Legacy LSI PCV Location...?28 May 2004 04:12 GMT3
Doing some under the hood work yesterday on the 95 Legacy LSI and started
looking for the PCV. Could not locate it. I had ordered one online and could
not find any place that I could put it. I know that it is located somewhere
in the intake manifold. I did find a small piece with ...
Oil Leak Cause Check Engine Light On?28 May 2004 02:56 GMT1
The Check Engine Light on my 2000 Outback has been on for a while (a
mechanic checked it out, said it did not need immedate service). Recently
had a minor  leak from the oil plug fixed (different mechanic) , and the
light went out.
Questions about Subaru Quality/New Outback Purchase27 May 2004 22:49 GMT21
I'm posting to this group out of interest in the new 2005 Outback
Wagon. I owned an 83 Wagon for about 6 years and put 100k miles on it.
It was a pretty reliable car, but there were times that I cursed it
for some quality issues. It was always splitting CV boots, the wheel
