Transmission body leaking fluid?04 Jun 2004 17:19 GMT3
Just wanted to note that I was checking the transmission in my 2004
WRX while I was changing the oil.  The transmission body felt like
there was a thin layer of gear oil on the outside.  It certainly
smelled like gear oil.  There were no apparent leaks/drips.  I seem

Can anyone say if the Duty solenoid C and the "clutchpack" are part of
one assembly?
From what I can determine, the duty solenoid is a regular problem with

Forester 5 Spd or Auto04 Jun 2004 08:47 GMT3
I am a new Forester owner.  I was the proud owner of a 93 Civic 5 speed.  I
bought a used 2001 Forester last month and have been disappointed by a few
things.  My car is the S model, automatic.  First, I do understand that I
will no longer get the 40mpg I had with the Honda, but I ...
any Love for the Loyale out there?03 Jun 2004 15:18 GMT3
Roommate bought a 90's Loyale wagon at auction this week, I haven't
found much info online other than parts suppliers (who list it in the
meta-text).
Any enthusiast's web pages, "it's the same as..." help out there?

Forester body kit...03 Jun 2004 13:49 GMT1
I have never been real excited with the huge foglights on our 04 Forester
XT.  My wife was in a small skirmish that will involve some repair work to
the front end.  Are there any front end kits available that reduce (or even
eliminate) the fog lights?

Fluids replacement03 Jun 2004 04:21 GMT2
I recently brought my 1999 Impreza TS to dealer for 96000km maintenance.
Only engine oil was replaced. Should I replace transmision (manual)oil ,

85 Octane in a 2.5X at 4500Ft+03 Jun 2004 02:27 GMT5
I live in the Denver metro area. Around here, regular is only 85
octane. I understand that this is because the higher altitude
reduces the tendency to knock in a NON-TURBO engine. My
2004 Forester 2.5X calls for 87 Octane. I wanted to know if
Invisilbe Bra Revisited (MPS)02 Jun 2004 17:59 GMT9
Last fall there was a thread about the invisible bra, it is a clear
plastic that you put on your car and is not noticeible more than a few
feet away.  I think it is made by 3M.
Anyway, i was looking for some input from anyone that has one.  Now
3.0 pistons same as 2.5s?02 Jun 2004 16:09 GMT5
Anyone know if the same pistons are used in the 2004 6 cylinder as in the 4
cylinder engines and if the cars exhibit the same piston slap problems as
they age?
How about the new 2005 2.5s?
Timing Belt Change02 Jun 2004 08:12 GMT3
I have an "88 Subaru DL Wagon with the 1800 motor. The long timing
belt broke. The first time I replaced the belts I did it wrong by
lining up both marks at the top and then putting on both belts. I
tried to start it but no luck. I then learned about having to put on
