What's an "industrial fallout vehicle", how does it affect the paint
warranty, and do Subarus exhibit any "normal" paint problems?  Thx.

Forrester Thermastat25 Jun 2004 18:03 GMT3
I have a 2000 Forrester that is overheating a bit. On other cars I have owned,
this is a sign that the thermastat is not working properly.
I have changed the thermastat in older cars but the Forrester has some engine
components over the area where I assume the thermastat to be.
Intermittent airbag light 03 Forester...25 Jun 2004 16:34 GMT8
My wife has a 03 Forester.  Recently the airbag light has been staying
on while driving.  When the light initially appeared I called Subaru
and set up a time to have them look at it.  They couldn't get me in
till 3 days later.  Well as fate has it, as we were driving to the
Knock sensor on 04 Forester25 Jun 2004 13:44 GMT3
I've heard people from this group saying there's a knock sensor on 04
Forester that went bad sometimes. I asked the same question to my mechanic
and told him that I put in regular unlead gasoline as recommended on the
manual. He said cars with knock senser should use premium gas or ...
Door speaker noise in 2004 Forester25 Jun 2004 07:08 GMT2
Just got back from the dealer, where they put more insulation in both
doors to stop the irritating buzzing from the vibrations from music
playing on the Cd player and radio.  Took them 3 tries, but I think they
finally got it right.  Next our other 2004 Forester is going in for ...

Repair Manuals for 2000 Outback25 Jun 2004 02:35 GMT11
I have been looking for a repair manual for my Y2K Outback.  It
appears neither Haynes or Chilton publishes one for that car.   Are
there any available or are you forced to directly to Subaru?
thanks
How to read diagnostic codes25 Jun 2004 02:03 GMT4
I have a 2000 Impreza Outback Sport. I don't have all the service
manuals because there were too many and too expensive! My check engine
light just went on. Can the code be read without a reader like some
other cars? And, if so, is there a web site I can go to to get the
Forester off "paved road" performance?24 Jun 2004 23:39 GMT7
Thinking about an 05. Plan is to use it on dirt, gravel, and/or sand
roads. Nothing totally off road.
I live in the Las Vegas area and do a lot of hiking and need a high
clearance for the "poorly" graded back roads leading to the various
Impressions of 2005 Outback?24 Jun 2004 21:53 GMT18
Has anybody driven the new 2005 Outback?
I'm interested in the XT wagon, but they are scarce on dealers' lots here in
Northern California.   Can anybody venture a guess as to when they will be
more commonly available?
2004 Forester - What's with the "lumpy" acceleration?24 Jun 2004 21:07 GMT11
I've got 4000km on my 2004 Forester 2.5XS (5spd manual). Moderate
acceleration from 2600rpm through about 3700rpm is lumpy. Lumpy is probably
the best way to describe it. Whatever it is, it is definately not smooth
acceleration. Operating and shifting at 4000+rpm, the engine sounds
2001 Forester CV Boot question24 Jun 2004 16:41 GMT1
My outer boot is leaking on my 2001 Forester. I'm taking it to the dealer for repair. Any idea how much this repair can cost? I'm assuming the boot will need replaced. Thanx in advance
86 wagon intermittent ignition problems24 Jun 2004 14:42 GMT1
I have owned an 86 wagon since new and have rarely experienced any problems
(touch wood) although it is now retired to be my second car.
But just recently, a couple of times when I have gone to start it, I turn
the key on, it goes click and then everything is dead.
Hail vs. Insurance24 Jun 2004 13:11 GMT5
Well, just got the appraisal for the damage done last Tuesday out here in
Golden, CO.
Looks like they're gonna total my baby :(.......
