Check engine light was on....now it's off!18 Jun 2004 02:59 GMT14
Well, this would be my second go around with the dreaded CEL.  Last week it
went on steady.  Stayed on for 4 days.  I drove around ignoring it.  Pretty
sure it wasn't the gas cap issue.  Yesterday morning, it was no longer on.
About a year ago, it was on, took it to dealer, they ...
Noise on turns17 Jun 2004 19:20 GMT2
When I have my 04 OBW w/auto tranny stopped and start out on a turn,
such as you would when stopped at an intersection and making a right or
left turn, I hear a noise that sounds like a tire dragging.  It only
lasts for a second.  The car only has about 1200 miles on it.  Is this ...

Coolant17 Jun 2004 06:35 GMT21
Was reading a topic in another non-automotive group and the subject of
coolants came up and got to be a hot topic.  Was wondering what
official position is on coolant for Subbies, the green Ethylene glycol
or the orange propylene glycol (DEX-cool).

going to synthetics. Please let me know your thoughts. ...
97 Impreza outback -- flat tire -- no fuse.17 Jun 2004 01:49 GMT8
about 1.5 miles from home, the car got a flat, which; some nice folks
helped change the tire & the wife was on her way.. When she got home, I asked if
she put the fuse in.. I got the dreaded "what fuse?" response.
Question:   How much damage was done?  it's not making any weird ...
Regular gas for the US spec STI17 Jun 2004 00:32 GMT28
With gas prices skyrocketing, is there harm in using regular or medium
grade (89octane) gas in an STI for trips where you are careful to stay
off the turbo (much)?

IC Water Spray17 Jun 2004 00:25 GMT16
Just a question out of curiosity. Could rain possibly act in the same way
that the IC Water spray nozzle does, or would you have to reach relatively
high speeds for this to happen. On a more general note, is the STi's engine
performance any better when it rains?
Oil for old and new16 Jun 2004 21:50 GMT1
What motor oil is recommended for a 96 OBW with 170K miles and for a 04 OB Sedan?
Thanks.

because it's a lot cheaper than having discount tire get them.  Any
comments?

Good story about a friend's Subaru Brat15 Jun 2004 19:54 GMT1
As I was considering buying an 05 OBW for my wife, I asked a friend of
mine who had owned several Subarus where he bought his. During the
conversation, he answered my question about his old 83 Brat by telling
me this story: he was going down a country road near his house in TN
